I have decided not to use Clomid this cycle. The last few cycles on it (I have no idea how many I have had in total...about 10) I have been spotting for several days before AF. I have had it with it. My AF is long enough without the spotting (usually 10-13 days WITHOUT Clomid) and this just makes it longer. My cycles are short anyways, 25 days...so this really SUCKS. I basically only have 2 weeks without a flow of some sort. So, I am done with the sh*t. It isn't doing anything anyways. I see the FS next month, but until then...I am going natural.

OK, so...after that long-winded statement, what day do I count as CD1? I know it is supposed to be the first day of spotting, but it wasn't enough to use anything, and I am asking because I usually start using OPK's around CD10, but I don't want to start too early, because then I won't have anough ( I have 7 sticks - Clearblue), but I don't want to start too late because I might miss the surge. If today was the first day that I had to use something, do you think this should be CD1????

Thanks,
Confused.

Hi, sorry you are having such a crap time with the clomid, hopefully your FS can sort something out, maybe another brand of the drug? I have seen others use a similar drug to clomid that seems to show less side effects?

I have very light AF's and they are short, even on clomid, I only had 1 day heavy (by my standards!) and that was it, so I always count the first sign as cd1.. from what you say I would count the first day you use something as cd1.. have you tried temping too? it is a bit of a pain at times but will give you an indication re ov once you learn to recognise your temp pattern..

Good luck with the FS :hugs:

hiya, id buy some cheap opk's from the internet then you cna test every day for as long as need be.

they are like a fiver for 50 or something like that!

Hi Jasmak

I don't know much about chlomid but cheap internet opk's always seem to work for me. I also have a clearblue fertility monitor and the internet cheapies show my lh surge just as well as the monitor (I still use the monitor though as it tells you when your fertility is rising before the lh surge so you have the chance to bd in preparation for the lh surge).

I get mine from ebay from fertility plan and they are fine. xxx

CD-1 is the first day of red flow, no spotting! Good Luck! Maybe you need a break to get lucky!:dust:

I agree with CD1 being the first day of actual flow. I spotted for a LOOOOOONG time before this cycle, but counted first day of real flow as CD1 and it's working out just fine, it seems.

I've read MANY stories of women who gave up Clomid and got their :bfp: on the first natural month off of it! I hope its lucky for you! FX'd!
