I cannot break this boy!

I love breastfeeding Kai BUT there are times when I have to go out and leave him with Martin. Now, this boy is doing a Kunte Kinte on us and WILL NOT take EBM from anything other than my boobs!!! It's starting to get me down a bit, coz wherever I'm going, I have to make sure I'm super-quick so I can get back to feed him as Martin can't get him to take a drop. We've tried various different bottles, teats, cups etc but nothing seems to be working! It's our wedding anniversary in 2 weeks and we want to leave him with my SIL for the night but I'm worried we'll have to cancel our plans because I don't want him to go hungry. I don't know what else to try.

Which bottles have you tried?

Avent, Dr.Browns, Tomee Tipee Closer to Nature & Breastflow. Plus all the different teats that are available for all those bottles. We've tried giving him EBM in his sippy cup, in a glass & in a regular cup but nothing works. He works himself up into such a state that when I give in and put him to the breast, he goes on like he hasn't eaten for days!

Ha ha - we had this with Harry. When we came to get him off boob and completely onto bottles, we had a week of hunger strike! He would just take the smallest amount so he wasn't starving, and then continue whinging for boob. Unfortunately there's not a lot you can do other than stick to your guns.

Tescos do a bottle I think its pink but they have teats that have little raised dots on them like a nipple.. But it sounds like you've tried them all... x

have you tried mam bottles?
Alex takes one bottle a day and we use these with no probs, also Rob or anyone else gives him the bottle. I wont give it to him.

^^^^ She said it......he knows how to play you so you should let anyone but you give him EBM. I'd go so far as to say that you need to not even be in the room.
