I cannot break this boy!

Yeah, hubby was giving (well, trying to) the bottle this evening. I wasn't in the room to start with, but Kai was still fussing around regardless.

Don't want to dishearten you but my Poppy has never had milk from anything but me! We have just had to get on with it. I think the only way she will switch will be if I go cold turkey!

The one time she took a bit was when she was half asleep and it was with a MAM bottle. A lot of girls on here have had success with them.

Good luck and hope you get to go out and celebrate your anniversary. x

I've heard a lot about the MAM bottles, but then I heard a lot about all the other ones we've tried too. I don't want to go out and buy another bottle that won't get used.

Dont buy anymore bottles hun.

How about a switcheroo?? Maybe start out at usual feeding time, on the boob and then when he's had enough that he's not going to be as frustrated ie. his belly is fairly full - you could have the EBM in one of the bottles, preferably the first one you tried, as this is the one from furthest back in time. When you think he's fullish but not quite, I'd gently break his latch and swiftly replace with bottle #1......worth a try??

Oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Never thought of that, I'll give that a try tomorrow!

I had to take my little man to another house and have someone else feed him, he will now take a bottle from me at home

That's one cute little baby Neecee...such eyes!

I haven't tried this myself as Fatso liked bottles from the beginning too, but a friend of mine gradually got her baby to move gradually to the bottle by giving her EBM from her (very clean) fingers and then dipping pacifiers into her EBM, just little tastes at a time. It worked for her.

Sorry to thread jack Neecee but Kunte Kinte ... i havent heard that for years

LOL!

"Your name is Toby!"
"NO! I am Kunte Kinte!"

No advice to offer but I just watched the entire series on youtube. For the first time finishing it the whole way through and that movie has some really funny funny parts............

The part where kunte was eating grits and he told fiddler,

"Grits Dummy" and looked sooo lost it was sooo funny, Fiddler looked at him like I know you not calling ME dummy...........LOL.........I fell over laughing...........LOL

I know it's really hard - and I hope he takes to the bottle soon so you can have your anniversary night out!

I can only suggest what's already been said; persevere with offering him the bottle, and have anyone but you do so. Hubby gives Alyssa her bottles of EBM as she can smell the milk on me and would only want the breast. Lisa's advice is spot on, in my opinion (for what it's worth LOL) and would be my suggestion, too.

Good luck, and please let us know how you get on!

x

We've had this problem... DD loves the boob but HAS to take a bottle coz I have to work for a few hours in the evening M-F. I'd echo the advice given above and also add that what DH has found (purely by accident) is that if the milk is warmer than it would normally be from the boob, DD takes it. He accidently left a bottle of EBM in the warmer for a bit longer than he needed to one day when DD was testing him (screaming and refusing the bottle). Since then he always warms it that little bit extra. Maybe it's worth a try... x
