I cant believe what i've just read(sorry if tmi)

I enjoyed "ring of fire" I've never heard that before but yes that is an extremely accurate description.

Isn't it? :haha: It's the kinda stuff that makes you want to kick a MW in the face, or jump off the table .. if you could, that is.. because that's the very moment when you just think.. "Holy hell, my hoo-hoo is going to split in two!" and you can't do much of anything but be in shock...:haha: thank goodness it only lasts about 15 seconds.

Oh wow. And i have this to look forward too.
Will i get it twice because of twins or is it once one is out the other will feel fine?

You know.. that's a good question.. I don't know  as I've not had twins -- but for the love of all that's holy, I hope that you only feel it for the first and your numb for the second RoF.... :haha:

Eeek im scared now :sad2:
I will have to look it up, im not going to ring my Midwife again she will get so sick of me.

That's funny .. I was going to do the same thing out of sheer curiousity. Going to look now.

If you find something please tell me xD

All I'm finding is a description without extreme details.. basic details, yes.. (like pain meds used, etc.) but not "I felt this with baby #1 and this with baby #2"...

I am reading over and over the fact that pushing baby one out is not so bad, but when baby two starts to come, they are so exhausted, it takes a bit longer to do so because Mommy is so tired (totally understandable!!!). I'll keep looking. :flower:

Thanks hun and i read it happens with the streching of the vagina so if im already stretched i dont think i will feel as much pain as with the first.

:hugs: ^^^ I would imagine so.... (now I'm going to have to stalk you, in a non-creepy way, so when you have your little ones, you might mention it in your birth story, as I'm curious.... :haha:)

Best of luck to you, and may us ALL get through this pain business, even if we chose NOT to rub our beans (or have someone else do it for us)!

yeah xD
I will deffinitely include it if i write one :)

interesting thread! i love it :)
i've actually got a book right now that i'm almost finished reading and it is called 'orgasmic birth'.... i find the whole subject of orgasmic birthing totally fasinating!
just to keep things short&sweet as i'm dead tired and need to get to bed - the natural rhythms and waves of the uterus in orgasm can actually help birth the babe without tearing or trauma... the pain receptors are blocked due to the heightened sensations of the vagina, and as well, the tissues of the birth canal as well as perinium are softened and become stetchy&more pliable, reducing the pain and chance of tearing/episiotomy.
birthing is a very sexual event in some ways.. it's like the full circle of intercourse in a way.. there are deep spiritual and physical aspects to this type of birthing, it can help heal birth traumas as well as empower the mama to have a gentle loving easy birth - yes, it IS possible!
i'm not so sure if it's all about these women having an orgasm just to get off, but from what i've read, when a woman surrenders to the flow and rush of energy (known as 'contractions') moving thru her body and works with the breath to relax deeply (rather than tensing and trying to avoid 'pain') and allows the body to do what it's inherently designed to do, some pretty phenomenal sensations can be felt.
obviously, this is a pretty controversial subject and not a well known one either, but if there's a possibility that enhancing sensations that feel GOOD in the body can aid in blocking the 'pain' receptors, i'm all for it!
:) i actually have a line in my birth preferences sheets stating that if labour slows, me&OH want privacy for either nipple &/or clitoral stimulation - both very effective at releasing oxytocin to prevent chemical stimulation of contractions. we're also looking at doing some smooching, which my dear OH is ALL FOR :winkwink: , during contractions as doing that can aid the body in doing its inner work - and gets the mind off of the actual contraction - i'm the kind of gal that loves to try out things like this, who knows, maybe it'll work..? i got that from ina may's book of natural childbirth - which i highly recommend! it's got some amazing birth stories!
anywho, time for me to get to bed, just couldn't get there first without commenting on this thread!... sooo fascinating!
bless x

we'll see how things go and what actually ends up happening - might end up so focused on my hypnobirthing relaxations that i forget about the smooching and so on  .... i'm not so sure i'll be up for some serious 'bean rubbing' as it was hilariously put earlier lol however, it makes sense to me that it's possible and why not i say? i'm open to it! there is science behind it, but the whole concept of orgasmic/gentle birthing seems counter to what our popular culture/media/medical systems portray it to be.
it's def not for everyone, but like with most things in life, it helps to keep an open mind and go with the flow, so to speak :winkwink: haha
i'll def post a birth story of some sort after she comes and tell all.... like i said, i've tended to be somewhat unconventional and experimental in my life and kinda march to a diff drummer, if you will, and well, the whole topic of pleasurable birthing is just fascinating!

Ok First, My mom will be in the room along with DH and I'm quite sure she would not like to see him rubbing me off! :haha: Awkward Much! Lol

Second, how in the heckles could I possibly enjoy and orgasm when my Vaganga will be ripping open and a Watermelon Slides Out!?

i have just finished this book and was about to write pretty much what you have!

There is absolutely no reason why birth cant be pleasurable you are using the same area as you do during sex i dont get whats 'weird' or'wrong' about it. i think perhaps people should choose their words better when freaked out by things they are thrown by through lack of understanding. Birth can be a sensuous, sexual beautiful thing.... its not all hospitals and screaming.
