Sorry for all the miserable posts lately but I just can't wait to feel human again and most importantly meet my baby!!

I'm in so much pain with pressure, hip pain, back ache, rib ache, living on 2-3 hours sleep a night. And now I have internal piles :( and haven't been to the toilet for 11 days!! When I did go 11 days ago is was hardly worth it, intact a hamster could of shit a bigger shit!!

I told my MW on tuesday and she said that it's dangerous to not go for that long and that could be the reason why I haven't had baby yet, and it will cause problems in labour as babys head won't be able to pass if my bowel is full. She told me to book an appointment asap with doctor, which I did but they can't get me in till tomorrow at 11.10. Really crap doctors!!

I've tried everything, prune juice, pears, veg, fruit, fiber etc etc etc. I'm eating all this stuff every day and nothing! I'm in agony with the pain but no urge to poo :(

What am I going to do? I'm scared and so miserable!!

Any tips girls? Before I shoot myself lol xx

poor you
roll on tomo for your dr appt
goodluck

I'd be awkward and demand to be seen as an emergency (they all have that facility there) anything safe to take herbal wise? Holland and barratt might be helpful. Don't suffer any longer sweetie!!! Xxx

Hot cuppa coffee? Always gets me going x

God, you poor thing. I can only imagine how uncomfortable you must be!
My mum really suffers with constipation and not being able to go, and she has been prescribed something called Movicol. As far as I can tell you can take it during pregnancy but you'd need to discuss it with your doctor first. I'm only mentioning it cos it does wonders for my mum, so I'd highly recommend it.

Phone your doctors and tell them you need an emergancy appointment. They cannot refuse you and you don't need to explain what it is for, just say "It's personal".

By law, doctor's surgery's have to keep appointments open for emergancy cases or the doctors has to make time to see you (Even if it cuts into their lunch time!!)

I hope you get this sorted. :hugs: xxx

:hugs:sorry you're feeling so rubbish! as one of the posters said, i would demand to be seen. infact, i'd just go to the GP's office and say..'i have to see someone, i don't mind waiting, but i'm not leaving until i've seen a doctor. you need to be seen today, its horribly unfair making you wait until tomorrow, 40 weeks pregnant!!! chances are they will get a no show today anyways

Have u tried lactalose? It helped me! But it can be quite bad if u go into labour! (don't want to scare u!!) but a friend of mine couldn't push babies head out due to this and the midwives had to 'remove' the poo so she could push I would call docs again and tell them you HAVE to be seen today the lactalose works usually within a few hours to 24hours or u could call and ask the receptionist to ask the doc for a prescription that's what I did xxx

I dunno if u have one but have u tried a birthin ball? Bouncin round might help push poop down esp with all the fruit fibre u have had. Other than that castor oil but I know that not allowed :( sorry I'm no help xx

Glycerine suppositories- cheap OTC & effective at shifting blockages, one or two of those & a couple of doses of lactulose to soften everything from hereonin & keep you 'moving' shOuld dO it!
GL hun, hope bubs comes soon
Bex x

Oh mate, how absolutely miserable. I went to Boots and asked for lactulose ie called Laevolac, without a prescription. That's what the wards give you, so it's worth a shot. I'm sure if you were to go into labour, your body would have to push it out regardless - a baby's head is much firmer and there's nowhere else for it to go, even if you are sore doing it and there's loads of it backed up. Poor you, hope they can help tomorrow.

Glycerine suppositories thats what my doc gave me, put one in ant try to lie on yor side for 20 mins, you can get them from the chemist for about £1.50 x

You should be able to get laxative drinks safe for pregnant women in chemists, sounds like your having a rough time of it. I swear by having a bowl of rice krispies in the mornings I haven't had any constipation problems and I'm taking iron tablets! :)

hey lashes! sounds like youve tried all the natural methods - id try something stronger like a stool softener or something the pharmacist at your drug store recommends for constipation. so sorry :hugs: Keep me updated! I've been watching your posts and waiting for the day we can both say our little men are finally here! Shouldn't be long now.... hang in there!!

You poor thing, though i must admit it made me laugh reading that a hamster could of done a bigger one!
Fingers crossed the Dr's aren't compleatly useless and help you out when you see them tomorrow!! Here's hoping your LO will be with you by the end of the week :flower:
Oh, on a side note have you tried anal? horrible thought, but might help.... get thing's out??

ring them bk and tell them u cant wait till 2morra tell them you want an emergency appt or you need a home visit they'll fit u in then!!

oooh id ring them back and re tell them ur preg and could u see dr today?
but try a strong very sweet coffee.. if u can deal with it it usually helps me (when not preg) xox

Ahhh hun that must be so uncomfortable for you. I used Tescos Senna tablets in my last pregnancy (they say on the packet safe to use in pergnancy) and they did the trick - gave me a few cramps as they got to work on what was bunged up inside but really helped.

Hope you get sorted soon xx

I ended up going to the pharmacist and they gave me a big bottle of Lactulose over the counter. It tastes like really sweet, thick syrup and they said it's likely to be what the doctor would prescribe although if it was on prescription you wouldn't have to pay but I wanted it there and then rather than have to get myself to a doc appt.

Anyways, it totally worked for me. Then again, I hadn't pooed for maybe 5 days, not 11 but it still did the trick... Took about 4 hrs after drinking a big glug to work. Ask your pharmacist how much to take though!

TMI ALERT!!! Also, I found that my body naturally "emptied itself" [puke emoticon] (I hate that expression) by giving me the worst diahrrea the day I went into labour too so hopefully that would help.

was hardly worth it, intact a hamster could of shit a bigger shit!!

Sorry to laugh but :haha: That was hilarious comment. First time I have laughed today so thank you for that comment! TOTALLY not laughing at your predicament though. It is truly awful - you might want to get some cream for your inner piles too in case it is painful when you do manage to get the poo out :(

GOOD LUCK!!!! Hope it works fast :)
