I don't get it?

On Thursday i went to the JC to try and apply for IS, they said they'd get back to me within 3-4 days as to whether i'd be able to claim it or not.

Anyway, i've opened the post this morning and the JC have sent me a maternity allowance form out asking me to fill it in and send it back asap. I'm guessing i'm not entitled to IS so they're seeing if i can have MA instead?

I'd phone them up but i'm usually on hold for best part of half an hour before i can manage to speak to someone so thought i'd ask on here see if anyone knew

How many weeks pregnant are you and have you worked for 26 weeks of the last 66 weeks?

I'm 34+1 now and was working through an agency at the NHS for about 32 weeks

I think i get it now I'll fill the form in and send it back anyway. Thanks for your help

You are welcome. You are entitled to MA in that case, which is why they will have sent you the form (you can get IS if you can't get MA for any reason when unemployed and having a baby).
