I don't know if I peed myself or what...

Carrying on my run of TMI posts!

Last night, I had just got into bed and felt a wee bit.. funny. So I got up, got a glass of water and noticed my bump was feeling really quite tight and uncomfortable. Not painful, though. I'm no stranger to this feeling but last night was different - within 5 minutes, I made a mad dash to the bathroom and threw up what felt like my entire insides!

And here's where the TMI came in.. mid-gut wrenching wretch, I felt a gush of... something down there. I finished doing what I do and yes, I admit, I whipped off my knickers and... let's just say it didn't seem like pee! What else could it be though!?

I'm truly not sure as I don't have any experience with this, but if you're concerned, a call to your midwife or OB, etc. wouldn't hurt! Hope all is well and you truly did just pee! Take care and keep us updated! xx

Did it have a funny smell to it? How much was there? I'd maybe ring your assessment unit for advice as it may have been a leak in your waters xx

I would call your midwife as if it wasn't pee there's a small chance it may have been your waters leaking maybe? Hopefully not but best to get checked just to be safe. It could have been excess discharge that was squeezed out with the vomiting (sorry didn't know how else to put that) but I'd get checked out anyways. Hopefully all is ok and you feel better

It could be pee(this can happen as baby gets bigger)

For me, I leaked amniotic fluid- I thought I was leaking pee with dd2, and only found out at my midwife appointment bunp was on the small side. I mentioned the wetness and at te scan it turns out I had been leaking amniotic fluid from 25/27 weeks. It came back to normal eventually, but the symptoms were suitable for me and very similar to leaking a bit of pee, though it didn't smell pee-like.

I would probably call the midwife for advice. It's much, much more likely to be pee than amniotic fluid but best saw than sorry with these things, and I it's pee get doing those pelvic floor exercises! I always forget

No smell, no colour, no nothing! If I couldn't feel it, I'd swear I imagine it I'm not at home (even worse!!) but will give my midwife a quick call when I get back! Not too worried but better to be safe, eh?

I'm jealous of all those idyllic movie pregnancies!

Oh yeah, me too! A nice smooth pregnsncy would be awesome!

My midwife took it quite seriously and arranged a scan, so don't feel you'll be not taken seriously. Especially at your point in pregnancy, they tend to start sitting up and listening as your almost at v day

I wish I had a direct number for my actual midwife. She keeps tell me I can call "her" but really she means I can call the unit and speak to a random

Could possibly be a little leak.

I haven't yet had an accident (but my gosh I've needed to pee so much out in public that I sometimes very nearly could to hold it any longer), but if I leaked a little pee, I wouldn't be able to hold the rest of it! Have you ever tried to per then hold it half way done? Just can't do it!

Or yes, possibly some discharge. I've had the odd ocassions where I've dashed to the bathroom feeling too wet and thinking I had peed myself, and it was just a change in the discharge. Sorry tmi.

I would definitely get a quick check as you vomited and felt a weird tightening sensation on your bump.

Better to be safe!

See, the one thing that does worry me is the amount - I had knickers and my PJ trousers on and... it soaked through it was quite a large amount which is what made me think "pee" but then with the complete lack of smell and colour (my pee is NEVER clear), it got me wondering!

I've called the unit and requested a call back from my midwife

Hopefully they'll recommend a quick check just to make sure the leak isn't coming from the womb. I've heard of ladies leaking a little fluid or their waters leaking early but only a little bit and it wasn't a problem for them and they carried on until full term

Thank you! So I should prepare myself for an internal already?! Oh lord (I'm 25 and yet to go for a smear... Been getting the letters for 4/5 years. I want to cross my legs forever!! Bad, I know - the thought just makes me want to crawl into a ball and sob haha... not the best in my current position, eh!)

Could be amniotic fluid. Call the midwife and if they take too long getting back to you, do consider a trip to the ER to be on the safe side. x

Honestly if you do need an internal they're not as bad as you think and over and done with nice and quick. After going through a pregnancy before and having smears etc the thought of them doesn't bother me at all. You'll be fine I'm sure.

I would just give them a quick call, chances are your midwife will send you there anyway just to be checked over. Try not to worry about the internal, theres not too bad just a little embarrassing but i always like to be prepared for it instead of being caught off guard lol hope everythings ok

Hope all is okay. I had gushes of liquid (clear, no smell) at the end of my pregnancy with dd. It was my waters. X

This happened to me yesterday and without wanting to worry you the hospital confirmed my waters are leaking. They did this by taking a quick swab which came up positive for amniotic fluid. I'm 26+3 :'( So far no contractions, my cervix is closed and baby is great but I'm still leaking. They think I have a small tear. I have been admitted for 48 hours for observation, antibiotics and steroids. It's worrying but I'm so glad I got myself checked quickly. Hope you actually have just wet yourself, so much easier!!

Oh no, poor you! If she calls in the next couple of hours I wont have been home to they'll be met with a bit of an unshaved mess from the waste down LOL oh boy if you don't laugh you'll cry!

I said that to my friend as well drove in (as we were out shopping when I leaked) thank god I shaved this morning!!! Good luck, usually it is just urine or discharge xx
