Hi
Ive just had my gorgeous lil boy 8 months ago and im due to go back to work next month.
The problem is that after having my boy i had a severe arthritis flare up and im still in pain everyday.
Ive got a meeting with my boss on Thu and as the title says i just dont know what to do or say to him.
Atm i dont feel well enough to work but the doctor says she can only give a fit note which tells my employer what i can/cant do.
I just dont see this working in my job we all do the same roles and we are all on our feet 8hrs a day,so there would be no jobs i could just sit and do.
I cant just quit as hubby is going mad saying we need the money etc.
Ive looked into benefits but i just dont understand them,we have already had tax credits taken off us.
Ive looked into benefits for when you cant work but they seem to make you work or look for work you can physically do.
The only thing i can think to do is go into the meeting Thu and beg my employer for more time off,ive already had 12months.
I just know hes going to make me come back and ask me to do what i can but i know i will end up run off my feet cos they will forget when we are stressed/busy. I work in a shop btw.
Sorry this is such a long post im just really upset and out of ideas.
xx

I think you'll just have to have a chat with your boss and see how understanding he can be - is there any way you can reduce your hours or do the easier tasks (if there are any) for a few months while you get beck to good health?

I think you should get that doctors note even if it doesn't seem too useful because then they HAVE to take your abilities into consideration then.

That said I don't think pushing yourself too hard is a good idea so make sure you communicate how well/unwell you're feeling and make sure your boss and OH actually listen.

Do you feel ok about leaving your son? I can understand why that would bother you too. I'm studying full time from September and my biggest worry is leaving my kids and they'll be 2 and 3 year olds then.

Thankyou for your reply :flower:
Ive got my meeting today and like you said im just going to go in and be honest and tell him im going to struggle to do my job.
Its hard because i dont want to push myself and become more unwell but on the other hand i need to work for the money.
I dont really want to leave my son :nope: but i know he will be ok with my mum... its heartbreaking thinking of leaving them isnt it?
Thanks for you advice and kind words
xx

No problem :) - I really hope it went well for you today.

It's horrible leaving them but he'll be in good hands - they say it's harder for us than them. I've just started looking for a childminder which I hate - though I've met a few and they seem really nice. Can't win really :/

hi... hope you are feeling better soon... i have multiple sclerosis and had a relapse a while ago which affected my right hand and arm to the extent to where i could not use it. i was initially signed off for 3 weeks then my doctor gave me a sick note stating i could only manage part time duties for 3 weeks. i was on full pay for all this and work had to give me part time... its worth getting note from gp as work Will have to accommodate your needs and would make your life easier!

well, i can only hope for you to get well soon.. i will pray for you before go to bed. amen
