I will be very soon 4 weeks preg. I should be having my ultrasound soon around 6 weeks. I dont like at all having vaginal ultrasound. I was preg before and always has been vaginal ultrasound. Later I had a miscarriage (of course i am not saying that was the reason..it just happened)

I just hate it, i dont feel comfortable. its ok to have it the normal way since the start? would i be able to hear normally the heartbeats and see my baby?

At the beginning it is the best way to see the baby. I had a vaginal ultrasound this weekend and I am 11 weeks. I didn't care as long as I got to see my baby. The tech told me vaginal would give me the best photos of my baby.

Thanks for ur reply.

I understand that u get to see better ur baby.. but is it true that i can only hear the heartbeat if doing it thru the normal way above 12 weeks? if its like that, then no, i will do the vaginal type bec i really wana hear it!

Don't worry after about 12-15 weeks you will have an ultrasound via your tummy.

I've had two vaginal and one normal. They don't bother me. I don't think they have any affect on whether your babies going to be okay. However, you have every right to refuse a vaginal ultrasound, they'll just make you wait untill they can see it regularly. Probably 7/8WK, I'm not sure.

Oh and I got the heartbeat on a normal scan at 7WK+2 :)

Thanks for not fogetting mentioning that!! I might do the first u/s as transvaginal and try to continue until when I can do it as a normal way.

I didn't hear the heatbeat during my ultrasound. I could see it though. I bought one of the home doppler's so I had found the heartbeat the night before.

I had a TVUS and it SUCKED. My uterus us up higher than normal so they have to really shove it up in there and move it around really hard. It hurts so bad and I feel bruised inside for a few days afterwards...but, I get to see better pics of my baby so...I guess it's worth it!

Hate to say this but at 7 weeks they seen nothing by the normal scanning I was devoed was sure it was ectopic already she did an internal and there my lil bean was :D

I understand what your saying but the chances are slim and the woman doing the scan will know that you have had a previous miscarriage or you could drop it in to the convo she may ease your mind.

After the internal it gets very uncomfy so try not to panic about that either Suzan. Joys of being a woman huh!

:hugs:

Oh and we seen the heart flicking on screen

That sounds awful :s

Ive never had either but I know which Id prefer I think.

I have never had one of these scans i only had the one on my tummy for the last 2 pregnancys i had. But at least i know what to expect lol. It sounds painful and i hope i don't have to have one, but i supose it would be worth it.
Luv Cheryl xxx

Ouch, I didnt even know they did ultra sounds that way.
I'm a bit clueless really.

When you have a very early scan, the only way to see clearly and to make sure all is OK is to have a vaginal scan.

I personally prefer those scans.......
