My partner doesnt earn very much so therefore I started looking for a part time job. I have been offered an interview which is great  but I feel like I need to be with my daughter all the time - shes 4 months. The job is evenings and weekends. My partner can look after her in the evenings and on sundays but I just feel awful like im letting her down....................

Am I just being silly and overprotective of her
Im sure my OH will do a fab job looking after her though

:hugs: :hugs: in the end you are doing what is going to be the best for your daughter :hugs: :hugs:

Your not being silly or overprotective, your lo is only 4 months old so its perfectly normal to want to e with her at all times but that is a great opportunity, to have a job that wont affect your time really with your lo, it will be bedtime routine when your at work in the evenings then a sunday it gives her time with her daddy, seems like the perfect solution tbh and means both u and your oh have your own time with her. Hoe u get the job Kx

Thanks ladies - just thinks its a bit scary but im sure it will be fine....... xx

I had to get a part time job when my 1st was 3 months old and i was working evenings and weekends. At 1st i felt guilty but here i am 8 1/2 years later doing the same part time job and now have 3 kids. Its worked out brilliant as i know the kids are well looked after by hubby while im at work and i think it has been good for us. I have my independance and tbh work is my sanity and my being me time and not just someones mummy. We are better off financially which benefits the children as we can treat them and it has also been good for them not to be attached to me 24 hours a day - i have never had a problem with them being clingy or crying when i need to go out as they have always been used to it. When they are small they are in bed when im working anyway. Probably the only downside is me and hubby dont see each other as much as we are doing opposie shifts but we make the effort to have one family day or night each week and with the extra money we can afford a few days holiday which we all enjoy. You need to do whats best for all of you and you certainly shouldnt feel bad about doing so. x
