So happy! My three years are almost up, so the doctor agreed to refer back to the hospital. I just need my hospital appointment and then I'm on the waiting list for IVF! :happydance:

But...the doctor I saw was pretty clueless about the whole process. She kept saying 'Wow, I didn't realise it was three years', etc, which was not very confidence inspiring. But I got my referral, so I don't care.

Good luck. i think you sent me details of the reflexologist? Are you going to Dr Wallace in Bedford?

Congratulations! How long do people normally have to be on a waiting list for?

Thanks for all the replies.

Pigsy - yes, I recommended the reflexologist. I assume I will be seeing Dr Wallace again, as she is the consultant I saw previously.

Phoenixrose - in the UK, if you have unexplained infertility you have to have been trying for 3 years before you can be referred for IVF on the NHS. (You can go private after 1 year, I believe). In my case it has been even longer, as I had an early m/c and they start the 3 years from the last (if ever) pregnancy.

Oh, that 3 year wait, I knew about that one. I thought that once you were approved you went on a waiting list for an available doctor.

oh good luck. I thought it was bad 3 years from scratch but starting after a MC must be awful. Dr Wallace is nice but i found that it took months from the appt with her to getting a date with Bourn. I had to really chase the blood tests as they seemed to loose my medical notes, and it didn't help that the receptionist was on leave, and no one provides cover for her! if you find it takes a while ring Bourn and they will provisionally reserve you a place as the seminars only take place once a month.

Thanks pigsy. I got my appointment today (I love choose and book!), so I'm super excited. I think I'll contact Bourn Hall as you suggest and see if they can provisionally reserve me a place.

Hi all,
Thought I would put 'bedford' into the search bar and found you. I have an appointment with Dr Wallace tomorrow. We have had our bloods and SA taken so hope to get some results and maybe an internal scan.Does that sound right pigsy?
After seeing the nurse in August she sent us off for bloods and booked us in with dr Wallace for tomorrow. I wish i pushed my GP to do the bloods and SA sooner but hopefullly we'll have some answers for the xmas milestone.

Stangely I had a 'wobble' in october and researched local private clinics and have been to the Bourn Hall open day already. strange hey?

Just wanted to say good luck with your referral and ask Pigsy if Dr Wallace generally gives a diagnosis and sets you up straight away? Don't think I can stand more waiting
