I used to be on BnB a while ago but took a break because it was hard to see people getting BFPs while I sat at home staring at another BFN. I was on the TTC #1 board but I kinda dont feel right going back to there.

I would love to say since being on here a while back things have moved forward and I am doing something to help but they haven't. We are no closer to anything, I still haven't had a period and there is no chance I am ovulating at all. I have PCOS, and my ovaries have improved cyst wise but still nothing. We have been fighting for a long time now to be given some form of help but at every turn I am shut down because of my weight, or my age, or some other stupid reason.

Anyway, I've come back because I think this is a really good place to get support and to talk to women who understand how it can feel on a daily basis.

This post makes no sense but I have to start somewhere right? So hello ladies :D

Hi Onions

The post makes perfect sense. I don't have any wonderful advice to offer but I do think BnB is in general very helpful with many other women going through similar situations. I enjoy being able to exchange views with people who are "outsiders" to me and who can offer their thoughts and opinions on my stresses and concerns.

I hope you can find some help/comfort from others too.

Hi onions.
Sorry to hear about the long road you are on. You didn't mention any medications you have tried, have you find the specialist route?

Sorry you are not ovulating, that must be very hard to deal with mentally. I don't really have any suggestions just know we are here for you of you need to vent and freak out or what not. I think there is a pcos thread on here you might want to check out as well.

Thanks for your replies :). I've never been given any meds, but I have gone down the herbals routes, with soy and agnus castus. Actually I take that back, I was given norethisterone to bring on a bleed but that is all. I was given the pill at the start of our journey but I had to come off that as it made me horribly depressed (didn't really make sense when we were ttc either...)

Husbands semen analysis finally got done and that is all normal so here's hoping things can progress, unless they find some other excuse :/.

Hello. I'm a no period, no ovulation PCOS girl too!! I have been lucky enough to be given medication but so far it has made no difference. Awaiting OH sperm analysis appointment.

Oh wow I've never seen anyone so similar to me! It is so depressing when your body does NOTHING!

My DH has perfect sperm which is great, although it really does put the whole burden on me. I'm yet to recieve any meds, currently trying agnus castus.

If you can get to a Dr that will give you medication and monitored cycles do it.
It is so helpful seeing some progress where there was none before. Did soy, maca, angus, yoga, acupuncture, meditation you name it. Nothing works as well as synthetic hormones.

I also have PCOS and don't ovulate on my own. I often went 6 months at a time with no period and when I did get one, assumed it was because I had ovulated- apparently that wasn't the case.

I tried some natural remedies such as Agnus Cactus which didn't work for me and after seeing a consultant was eventually prescribed Clomid. That worked in terms of making me ovulate but I still failed to get pregnant. I was referred for IVF in the end. The first attempt worked but I sadly miscarried. The second attempt was also successful and I'm now 30 weeks pregnant with a baby boy. Good luck! X

Wow congratulations His Princess. I will most definitely take anything I am offered now, I've had enough of trying to fix it myself, but I'm pretty sure I might pass out with shock if I actually get through to a consultant. I've seen 4 now :/

How come you've seen so many? Are they just not very helpful? I've been really lucky with the way that my treatment's been handled but I think a lot of that is down to where I live. Some areas seem to be a lot worse than others when it comes to things like this!

I've had bad luck. The first one said no help because of my age and just put me on the pill. The rest just did blood tests and scans then signed me off due to age or weight. Im not too big, bmi of 31, and i dont think my age should come into it at all. Maybe it wont so much now im married?

I do think most PCT's have quite strict criteria for funded treatment. How old are you, if you don't mind me asking? In my area, the age criteria is 23-39, neither person can have children and you both have to have a BMI below 30. If your BMI is 31, you'll have barely anything to loose.

I'm 24 now, I'm actually in the process of trying to lose weight, down 3 bmi in the last year :D.

I'd say you'll probably have more luck now you're that little bit older- I think most areas have a lower age limit of 23. Well done on the weight loss :) Hopefully you'll start to get somewhere now
