I don't really know what to say. If this is real, I wonder where any other people there whilst she was binge drinking? Did no one say something at the time?

I'm curious as this is your only post. I hope that you are not someone looking to stir up a heated thread as it is very rare you read a thread like yours.
I'm also curious if you are indeed truthful, why you would allow yourself to go to the extent that you did? Being 17 weeks pregnant I would assume you have seen a doctor? Been educated even mildly on FAS?
I'm baffled.

That's rather cynical. I'm sure she made a mistake and genuinely joined to ask advice about it. She probably had no need to join before now. Lets not judge ladies.

I'm not sure why everyone thinks it's a joke. Of course there really are people out there who drink heavily or often while pregnant. Sadly there are many women who do. There are plenty of FAS stories out there where women admitted or were caught drinking while pregnant. As for having only one post... I don't think I'd dare ask a question like this without making a new account or going to a board I'd never been to before either. I'd never be welcomed back after. This person may have done the same. I see no harm in treating it as a real question and giving her what little advice can be given for her situation. If it is real, she knows it wrong, we all know it's wrong and hopefully she can get the help she needs rather than hiding it for fear of harsh judgement and condemnation. I hope everything turns out well for her and baby and I honestly mean that.

Its rather hard not to get upset and judgemental at mums who do this. I suggest the mum go and look up evidence instead of asking on forums almost like looking some sort of OK to binge drink pregnant or go ahead. Yes your baby can get FAS and at this stage could already have it. Drinking and smoking is not good for mums or babies at all but mostly your child will have to suffer the health implications while you suffer the guilt. Best now to stop. Your eating veg and fruit dosnt balance out your binge drinking and smoking, it dosnt work like that. See your doctors immediately to tell them at the hospital you maybe put on heigh risk which is more scans to check your baby which I think would be the best thing to do. Please dont think because someone else was fine your baby will be, its a massive risk to take. Even when your baby is born and if it does have FAS you will have people on your back to.

Yes but there is a vast majority of women on here that smoke and smoke a lot, I've seen a lot of threads saying how they had a bad day ith the smoking. Smoking does a lot of damage and you don't see women jumping down their throats about it.

ok where did I jump down any ones throat?

Did you not think when you were doing this binge drinking I don't understand. Surely you must have known you were gonna worry yourself to death over it so what was the point. I think baby will be fine but you need to ask yourself what made you have such blatant disregard for your LO

Before BFP many people get worried about having the occasional drink, even drinking session, but when that BFP shows they stop.

To BINGE drink, knowingly pregnant is absolutely disgusting.

Yes I will judge you and any others who also binge drink when knowingly pregnant, I do also slightly judge you for the smoking, but 1 or 2 here and there - ok is stupid but it could be worse.

I hope to God this is a fake because people struggling to get that BFP don't need to read about someone as idiotic as this.

Also, BINGE drinking is NOT A MISTAKE. It's a choice, the wrong one.

I didn't say that you in particular did

It is wrong but there may be more to this, many people have alcohol problems. None of us know the background behind this.

Seek medical help then and not use it as a excuse, I had a friend that had a drinking problem, smoked and did drugs but as soon as she was pregnant she stopped without a problem. There is reason for this as she managed for 17 weeks with glass of wine here and there so why binge.. she is responsible for this little life that is relying on her to keep it safe. It's 9months not a life time

If the poster is a troll, they have done a pretty good job stirring up and getting everyone hot and bothered.
If not, I hope there are underlying issues behind the binge drinking to explain her actions. If not, it was irresponsible and stupid and I hope it never happen again for your baby's sake. Its not just FAS, its the falling over/injuring yourself you are more likely to do when drunk. If you do have issues there's probably support groups your MW can point you to.

So why quote me then in your reply?, in fact why are you do defensive at any ones reply you may not agree with when the advice is not for you.

Many here have offered advice from the OPs details as she hasnt given her details history to seek medical advice. Yet you are displeased. :nope: I think you should butt out. The OP asked for opinions shes getting them. I am sure admin will remove bad comments that arnt allowed on the forum.

Because you said it was rather hard not to get upset and judgemental, and I was trying to give my opinion about that part of it.
I'm not upset at all, I'm sorry if in text it comes across that way, I just think its an interesting topic and as I seem to be in the minority in being able to see this might not be a simple case of black or white I thought I would voice my opinion. But ok, I won't bother. Dosnt effect me either way!

If u really hated urself for something u wouldn't broadcast it on here for people to judge. U would keep it to yourself and hope that no one ever found out.
Someone stirring up trouble or someone after "research"???

OP, if you are genuine, I sincerely hope that you seek medical advice.

With the likelihood of this being an attempt at trolling, thread locked
