Hello ladies

I went for my HSG today which wasnt as bad as I expected. It wasnt painful at all. I did take 400 mg Ibuprofen prior to the test so I was lucky there but I wasnt so lucky when the radiologist told me that both my fallopian tubes were blocked with scar tissue. He didnt quite say from what and there were no cysts or fibroids. He said a number of things can cause this such as endo, ectopic pregnancies, and infection,...which I dont think I ever have. So idk...I was pretty shocked and devastated!!!! But the radiologist said that the good news is that I now know what the problem is and I can fix it with probable laproscopic surg to remove the scar tissue, or IVF. Which is great to know. Its just going to be a long journey which I prepare myself for everyday. I will talk to my gyne in a couple of days about which route would be more beneficial.

Ladies I need some enlightenment!!

I am hopin and prayin that whatever I have done will bring a beautiful, and healthy baby!

I have similar situation - and am having a lap in feb (see in siggy) - and NeyNey had blocked tubes and got a bfp through ivf!

There is hope, but it is a long hard to handle road. Goodluck.

yeah I have hydrosalpinx tubes (blocked and filled with killer fluid) to be removed, pcos, a large cyst to be removed, adenomysis, and they are quite sure endo - but lap to investigate if there are more issues and remove most stuff. I think reallyready has adenomyosis too.

Hi there, i had hsg done and it was excrutiating...yhe doctor said that both tubes were totally blocked...i was devastated...anyway i then saw a new consultatant..who decided to give me a laparoscopy and she wanted to redo the dye test...and guess what...tubes were not blocked in the slightest....she said that they had obviously gone into spasm as i found it painful..and thats why they had not let the die go through...but when i was under anasthetic they didnt spasm.

Hi. I had a lap and dye done as a scan showed a blockage in my both tubes. My results where that both tubes where blocked and i had pcos as well. I was told i could not conceive naturally either and i went on the list for ivf. a year later and im 31 weeks pregnant and i conceived naturally. I dont no how. But dont give up x

Hi Hun, sorry to pop in here. But i wanted to let you know I was diagnosed with blocked tubes after a Lap in August. Now after our first round of IVF we are expecting our first baby. if you're only fertility issue is Blocked Tubes- you're in a great position for IVF as everything is nice and healthy inside for baby.

wishing you lots of luck.

Hey huni i not in same situation as i dont have blocked tubes, but i am not on the IVF waiting list due to OH sperm results.. I totally understand the heart ache and the waiting game were are all going to go through with IVF, i am here if you ever want a chat xxxxx

I had a lap done. I took 2 weeks off, but thats only cause i moved a lot in my job. The 1st few days are the worse. I had shoulder pain from the air they put in you and it hurt between my scars. Im a wimp though lol but you should book a few days off if you work at least

Hi Ladies i had hsg and was told both tubes were blocked, had lap and dye in nov and before i could even get results had bfp, so there is hope.
Had 4 days off after lap and dye and didt really have any discomfort, i think its different for each person, although they do warn you about wind pains.
All the best x

so is the dye colored when they put it in you and they see it with the camera and it just stays in there or when you pee does it come out that color? i know dumb question it just makes me wonder. i wanna know what happens before it does

That is great news!!! I'm glad to hear success stories. My only concern is the cost of IVF. I dont mean to be nosey and you dont have to answer, but did you have to pay majority of the cost up front?, did your insurance cover any? Thats the only thing holdin me back. Also did your gyne remove any scar tissue during the lap??

I hate to ask so many questions. Its just sometimes easier to ask other women in the same situation. Thanks!!

Thanks Beauty!! I will wait as long as it takes to have a baby!!! In the end it will be worth it!! good luck to you huni!!!

I have blocked damaged tubes and have had a lap done (several operations), thing with our tubes are they are super sensitive so even if they manage to get one open, there still maybe too much damage to the little folicles which push the egg down, and then you are also at a much higher risk of an ectopic.

Hubby and I went through IVF and we got our BFP first round and are expecting twins.
If blocked tubes is your only fertility issue your success with IVF is really very good.

wishing you all the best.

NeyNey and I are both in Aussie so our out of pocket and upfront costs would greatly differ from other countries.

I had to pay $6300 Aus up front and our public medicare centre rebated me $5200 Aus, plus I had additional costs. My private health paid all hospital costs. After all rebates and stuff I would have been out of pocket around $2000 - $2500 ( with extra med, bloods tests etc), but again country to country and practice to practice differ greatly with costs.
