Hi all

a friend just told me today that they stopped doing home births because the gov cut funds so they dont have enough midwives. Anyone else heard this?

The NHS trust where I live tried but have been told they can't do it by the Scottish Government. They are making it difficult but not stopped them.

If you're low risk you're entitled to opt for one.

They're increasingly popular where I live and they've recently added to the team of hb midwives.

Its definitely not true in my area. When I was at my antenatal appointment the other day my midwife had gone to a homebirth which is why she wasn't with me.

i have an appointment next week with the gyne, i'll ask him about it. my midwife who i haven't seen since 16 weeks said she'd refer me to the team that handle home birth at 36 weeks. My friend who gave birth 2 months ago said she was denied it, poor thing. if at 36 weeks everything goes well with the stitch removal i'm gonna press them for a home birth
