That post did stivk in my head also and everytime my little one has hiccups I worry.
However I am not mad at the person who posted it.

I didn't see that post but it is a little irresponsible....but dont worry my LO had hiccups 5 times a day and he is now 20 months old....

Since when is expressing a concern that I read from two different people on this site irresponsible????? So everyone can express their concerns but when I do it is irresponsible???????????????

I'm sorry that this thread has upset you. But you really shouldn't take it personally. Anyone expressing any kind of medical concern and saying something could be this has to take responsibility for the way people react to it though. We're not medical professionals and therefore we shouldn't really give anyone any information but we do and if it upsets someone that's our fault. You now have to deal with the fact the information you gave upset someone. They probably too worded the title of the thread to strongly but the fact of the matter is you've caused distress from information you aren't qualified to give. Everybody who does this is irresponsible. Stop taking it so personally please xx:flower:

I only just realised there was a recent thread re this (havent been on all day)

overcomer, I just read your thread title and its very obvious that all you were doing was asking if there was any truth in what you had heard so as far as Im concerned you havent done a thing wrong and shouldnt be taking it personally. :flower:

Had you started a thread saying that hiccups means there is an issue with the cord then I could understand Kalua having an issue but thats not what you did so I dont think you should be persecuted for your thread. You were merely vocalising a concern, just like we all do from time to time. x

My issue is I didn't give info! I was ASKING!! I think there is a difference!!!! You guys act like I stated it as the gospel and I DIDN'T!!!!!

I would have never posted it but I came really close to losing my son to a double nuchal cord and a true knot!!!! Hence my concerns!!!!! I have had to live with the fact and wondered if there was any signs that I could have picked up on to spare the trauma I have suffered from it!

Well then I'm sorry but you should have asked a dr not a bunch of highly strung hormonal pregnant women. And i'm not saying anything. All I said to OP was not to worry and all I said to you was don't take what others are saying personally, and I'm sorry but you again took it personally.

I'm sorry for what you suffered with but yes giving this information (and by asking if it's true you have therefore alerted people to it who weren't previously aware) is like I said something we all have to take responsibility for when we do it. It's a risk we run with a lot of threads we post that there is someone on the forum it might effect negatively x

I think it might be a good idea if admin lock this thread or something?

I hate whoever said it too. If its true why do doctors say hiccups are good? Doctors never worry much about them. Mine gets them twice a day and I get scared. I've almost begged for another ultrasound to check.

but.....why is the thread in question any different than the hundreds of threads full of total and utter bollocks information stating that people have heard that you cant have a pedicure, peanuts can harm your child, you shouldnt go swimming, you shouldnt eat this, that and the other. Its no different at all! The poor woman was clearly very worried and merely asking if anyone knew if there was any truth in it. She even said "or is it just scaremongering" at the bottom of her opening thread!! I dont think this is remotely fair TBH and I hope this thread is closed asap. People using words like "hate" and "loathe" is completely ridiculous. Im about to report this thread because I think its out of order.

I didn't see the thread in quest I guess the one I saw that freaked me out was when a women had posted under the "worried about still birth" and this lady responded saying daily hiccups after 30 weeks can be a sign. That was the thread that had me panicked!

It isn't any different and if they upset people then the people who posted them need to take responsibility. Like even the original poster has said in her original post and since...it's not a personal attack. Things worry people and anyone who causes that worry needs to take responsibility not just this woman.

I really didn't mean to upset anyone and I'm very sorry that any upset has been caused I just wanted to try and help but obviously I didn't. I think the thread should be closed to but Overcomer I'm sorry if I upset you it wasn't anything personal I really hope you accept my apology and understand what it was I was trying to say and I'm not saying you shouldn't have posted it just that when we do post things (which we are of course all free to do) we should accept that we have to take responsibility for what it is we posted.

I don't see how having a thread about a thread is particularly helpful. The original thread in question would have dropped off the first page and been forgotten about in time, but by debating it, the issue has been brought up again. As the OP of the original threads stated, she was asking a question, as many of you do on the forum, not stating a fact, and therefore shouldn't be flogged in public for doing so. Using the words 'hate' and 'loathe' is unfair and a bit over the top

It's the nature of a pregnancy forum that questions will be asked, answers will be given, and 99% of the time, the opinions will be very different from each other. It's up to you to take the advice with a pinch of salt and decide what, if anything, you are going to take on board. BnB is NOT the place to seek professional, medical advice, so if you have any urgent concerns about your pregnancy at all - please speak to your health care provider
