Octavius!!

Now, i appreciate that it is an odd one, but I want it as a middle name. Initially OH was like NO DAMN WAY

but the more I have banged on about it the more he has started to like it.

So at the moment we are looking at calling bub......................................

Alexander Octavius Wakefield.

I've so many negative attitudes towards the middle name - relatives just calling me stupid and 'how ridiculous' comments, but I really just dont care anymore.

My only question - someone said that he'd get bullied with such a stupid name. I dont think its stupid.

Opinions welcomed please - just dont say its 'stupid' it hurts my feelings lol

It's definitely unique hon (I love unique). LOVE Alexander btw, that's my choice if the scan was wrong and I have a boy!
But I don't see any reason why he'd get bullied because of a middle name? Hardly anyone's ever known my middle name, I mean who do you really tell it to? And the minute someone's told me their middle name I've forgotten it 5 mins later!

I agree.

I think you can go really a bit wilder with mn. My OH likes Storm for a first name for a girl but I'm not too keen but I've put it on the middle names long list to keep him happy.
Used to know a guy who's mn was Lancelot which I thought was pretty cool, and he loved it.

I like all the old, old, strong, masculine, regal kind of names. But the trouble is people dont get my thinking and think im just being strange.

I want my boy to have a powerful, strong sounding name, and I think the one we like is just that x

If he doesn't like his middle name or is embarrassed by it, no one who would make fun of him has to know. I hated my middle name and no one knew it at school. I think it's a cool name. Different, but cool.

If not and he does get singled out by it.. it would only be a middle name so he could just drop it if he decides to?

I love the name Demetri, Hubby likes Logan and he got to pick because i named our daughter but if it was up to me Demetri it would have been!!!!!

I like Octavius, if i was having a girl this time i think she would have been an Ophelia!

I like it, and I think middle names can afford to be a little more unusual. Kids don't get bullied for middle names. The last thing you want is your child cursing you for giving them a boring name.

Sooo agree with this. I am always (half-jokingly) critising my poor parents for calling me Clare and not having a bit more imagination than picking the most common name of the mid 70s.

i love these names!! although they are totally out there but i know i personally wouldnt call my child that for fear that some bullying would happen which is sad i know! Although like someone mentioned middle name isnt used too often and some strong characters can pull off the most out there names there is!!

I think its didffernt but isn't it a greek god? or king? i have a fairly normally name but when i was little got the mickey taken out of me as couldnt say it..im the youngest and bro and iss used to say infront of everyone Karlie whats your names..."Karlie wees" as i couldnt say louise lol x

i agree with what people have said it is very unlikely to be bullied for a middle name, in school we had a lesson where we went round the class and said what are middles names were , there were some common ones like at the time ( marie, louise, anne) then some uncommon ones like alexis, nasa etc, we used to think they were ace names to have as middle names.

No, he was the adoptive son of Julius Caesar, its of roman origin. They had all the good names the romans!! Just dont hear of them now, which is a shame.

When I first saw it I wasn't so sure but when I said it out loud I love it lol! I think it's a cool name! I got told my son would be bullied because his names 'Noah' and back when he was born there were none lol needless to say noones ever said anything to him about his name other than how lovely it is!
