I love this name

im not a fan but its not my choice its completely up to you! and as someone else pointed out, you can keep your middle name a secret if u want, altho i remember at school there was a register with everyones middle names on and my friend Jade's was Margerat, and for like 2 years after she got called maggie lol.

Awesome name. One of my favorite characters in a book is named Octavius...or "Tavi"

It's a middle name, so you can get away with a lot more. Even though its not to my taste, if you both like it and since it is a middle name, I say go for it.

If there is one thing we are entitled to, it's naming our own children. I kept telling my mom, "You got to name your children... and i get to name mine!" Because she was way too critical of all my name choices.

If you ask for opinions, i think it's important to be prepared to hear negative & positive ones. But if you are just announcing your official name choice... i think your friends/relatives should respect that and refrain from putting the name down.

I will never forget my boss' reaction when i said i was planning to name my son "Jayden"! She made a face and repeated it like it was the ugliest name she ever heard! Of course, after he was born & i did name him Jayden, she didn't say anything... but i know deep down she obviously doesn't like his name! Ha!

Oh well, you can't please everyone! There is no name in the world that everyone would agree on.... everyone has different taste! The important thing is that you and your OH love the name & you should ask yourself, "Will my son like the name i'm choosing?" He is the one that has to live with it.

Although i don't personally like the name Octavius... i do think Alexander Octavius flows well together and is definately a strong & masculine name.

I agree, I dont expect everyone to agree and say they love it by any means but having a relative turn round and say 'it's a stupid name' well - F off! lol Makes me want to use it even more!!

I just think there are ways and means to say you dislike something and being out and out rude about it isnt one of them.

People saying its horrible, screwing their nose up and saying 'dont like it' etc... well thats fine, but dont say it with such conviction.

Jayden is a cool name!

I think it is unique, but that does not make it ridiculous, and as for bullying, it's unlikely children will get to know his middle name really, so I doubt they would pick up on it. Love Alexander xx
