One of the women who my Mum works with had a baby when she was 19 and is pretty much like me so they arranged when she was back from LA for us to meet up. I met her today and she told me her story and I found it really inspirational so I thought I would share.

Her name is Jodie and she was 18 when she met her boyfriend at a party. They clicked right away and they went traveling to for 6 months together 4 months into their relationship (gap year before she went uni and he got a proper job). On the last day of there traveling they were in Thailand and even though they had only been together for 10 months he proposed to her on the beach on her 19th birthday! Sounded really romantic, very jealous!!

They got back late July and Jodie was starting at Nottingham uni in Sept so they looked for flats and then started renting one together at the start of Sept. A few weeks into moving into their flat she started to feel really ill so took a pregnancy test which came back positive. She decided to carry on with the pregnancy as she was already 3 months. She had a little boy called Blake after she had been in labour for 2 days. She was in the middle of her uni course so she took 3 weeks off and then went back to uni and finished year 1. In the Sept she started year 2 and Blake went to day care. They did the same thing for year 3. She graduated from uni with a first in English. That summer she married her fiancee on the same beach he proposed on in Thailand. She got a job in New York for a magazine starting that year so they all moved out to New York to start there life as a proper family. A year after she move to NYC she became pregnant again but with twins this time and they were girls and they were 4 weeks early. She called them Olivia and Grace. Blake was 4 so they have a nice age gap. She worked hard and got pretty high up in her job and was transferred to LA. She worked out there for 2 years and then became pregnant again, by accident to a little boy called Noah.

She is one of the editors for a major US magazine now and has a really big house which is like 7 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms with a gym and pool. It has a pool house too! She comes back to the UK like 3 times a year. She and her husband are still together and Blake is now 14, Olivia and Grace are 10 and Noah is 4.

She obviously explained the story better but I found it really inspirational how even though she is a "teen mom" and should be living on benefits and a horrible mum, drinking and partying all the time like most people like us to believe she actually went out there and made a real life for herself and her 4 beautiful children. I met them today as well as her really hunky husband  and they are very well looked after, happy and polite children. I think it is nice to hear about good teen moms. She is now...33 and seems to have it all. She said she never regretted having Blake, Olivia and Grace so young (obviously she was a lot older having Noah) and she said if anything it made her life more rewarding. She did stress that there was a lot of bad times too though.

Thats an amazing story, See the media need to fixate on teen mothers like this who show just because were teens doesnt make us unable to raise children!

Aww, that is such a lovely and inspirational story :cloud9:
