Just posted this in the pregnancy club but hoping there might be reassurance in here too.

My puppy is now just over a year old and he really doesn't seem to want to listen to me any more, he has also learnt lots of naughty behaviours. I don't know if he is playing with me, trying to get attention, or just plain pushing boundaries. He is a lovely relaxed dog when my husband is home, but the second my husband goes to work he is unsettled and quite frankly I now dread being home alone with him.

A bnb friend has suggested the pregnancy hormones might be responsible, and looking back he was much more relaxed before I was pregnant (but then again both me and my husband were not working at the time).

Has anyone else experienced bad doggy behaviour whilst pregnant? How has your dog reacted once baby is part of the family?

I'm ringing a behaviourist tomorrow for advice as I can't cope any more. I've tried making myself 'leader', more exercise, changing food.. I just need hope that it isn't my fault that he behaves this way.

I've never been pregnant, so I can't comment on how that might change a dogs behavior. But I will say that my dog is much more nervous and protective when my husband isn't home. She is constantly at the windows and will bark her head off at any person or animal that comes into view. When my husband is home she's as relaxed as can be and doesn't bother much with the windows at all. I think she feels she has to protect me and the house when he isn't home. I have no idea what to do about though, sorry I can't help!
