I now know why it hurts so much to feed

On my right breast. Just looked at the nipple after came out of shower and she has actually managed to kinda half rip off one of the 'bobbly' bits . So looks like I will jsut be expressing from that side till monday at least when I will as the HV to have a look at it.
I have had to cover it in germolene as it is hurting so bad, Kamilosan etc just arent doing anything!

Can you get your OH to get you some Lansinoh? It's much better than germoline and safe for baby to ingest once you start feeding from that side again. Well worth the money IMO - for me it knocks the spots off Kamilosan

I do have some, the MW gave me a few sachets and thats what I was using the past few days. It doesnt kill the constant pain that I am having from that nipple tho. I dont plan to feed her from that nipple for a while, and I will clean it off before I express.

Ok well if you try to use that in between you should see a difference quite quickly.

Hang in there hun. It's totally normal at your stage for this type of thing to happen. Your nips will toughen up (not literally!) and fingers crossed you wont be sore after this. I was the same and I've never been sore since - touch wood and whistle

oh hun, poor you... i had that a couple of weeks in... They kind of blistered, then the blisters got pulled off, then they bled and scabbed over! Was soooo sore!.... Lanisoh cream was fantastic and it soon cleared up in about a week. I carried on feeding though (although i was pretty much in tears for the first 10 seconds or so)

It does get better. Big hugs.
