I still look pregnant after Emergancy Section

Well I went into this whole pregnancy thing saying no epidural or section and ended up with both lol. I tried so hard on gas and air and codeine but couldn't do it and baby was b2b and cord round neck twice so could not push her out no matter how hard I tried. Anyway I am still Hugh with a massive belly after my section is this normal?

completely normal babe!
I looked preggy for a little while afterwards, it takes a while for everything to shrink back to normal size, and also you'll have swelling from the section for a few weeks. It'll go in time

Same here, I keep getting upset about it and OH is panicking I have depression setting in but I think it's just hormones x

Sounds really familiar with me too. Didn't want needle in back, was born with spinal bifida. (went away during childhood, but still scared) Definitely didn't want csect!!

They told me cord was around his neck too, but odd part is, he had no marks whatsoever indicating that when he was born. I still think the hospital was just impatient with my long labor

It does take a few weeks to look more normal again. Nothing your OH should be even worrying about! I was told to wear a more tighter fitting shirt. i used spandex shirts under all my other shirts.Keeps things from just hanging,lol!

I've not been told that but it is a good idea. I might buy some tight vest tops to pull it in x

I was the same and it was so depressing! But now I look so much more normal. and the `mummy pouch` shrinks too. Just give your body time, it will sort itself out and once you get the OK from your doctor exercise will help too.

Congrats on the birth of your baby. Just enjoy your baby and try not to worry. Your body has gone through alot. It takes time for everything to return to normal. X

It was hard for me - seeing my belly afterwards but since then it's gone down quite a bit (I'm 6 weeks PP) It takes time to go back to having a tight belly like before pregnancy due to them pulling the abdominal muscles away to get to the uterus and from the size of my baby (she was huge!!!). Remember it took 9 months to put on the weight it will take quite some time to go back down. My belly isnt tight like it was prepregnancy but it's definitely shrunk alot.

It's also normal to have a bit of depression. I was really bad for about 3 weeks crying all the time cuz of my body. But it will get better.

Yep, extremely normal ..I still look 6 months pregnant and i had my section 5 days ago

It will go down, I still looked pregnant up until when my daughter was a week or two!

YES I still look pregnant three weeks PP, well the bump goes down a bit each day
I am hoping that it goes down in the next few weeks or by six weeks...???

its gonna take time to all go bk to normal its major surgery it will still be bruised and swollen inside.
i got a pair of size 16 ( uk) jeans last week and they fit fine this week they are looser and i need a belt but i probably looked preg for the first 2 weeks and im now 2 weeks 5 days pp.i wasnt slim to start with so a bit of extra weight from giving birth doesnt bother me really.
