I just returned from my regular doctor after going there for them to confirm my pregnancy and a possible UTI. My usual Dr. is out this week so I had to see another. I am quite upset as I thought I surely had a UTI and it turns out that I don't. He didn't bother to check if anything else might be causing my symptoms.. The only thing he did do was take blood and refer me to an OBGYN. Now do I just suffer with this pain until the first OBGYN appt. in 2 weeks?

Does anyone think the pain "down there" could be from constantly going to the bathroom and or too much wiping? (I must have gone to the bathroom 6 times during the night the past few nights) I hope someone can help me out, I just don't know what to do..

You might have some type of infection. There are several easily treated things that tend to crop up more during pregnancy. I would call the OBGYN and ask if they can get you in sooner if you're really concerned. Feel better!

Ive been to docs this morn as thought I had uti and turns out I have thrush and that's why it was stinging when went to bathroom

Same EXACT thing happened to me in my first pregnancy. It felt nothing like a yeast infection and I thought for sure it was a UTI.

Is thrush similar to a yeast infection? How is it treated? I really don't want to go back to see this quack of a Dr..

Same thing happened to me a few days ago. I went to the doctor thinking I had a uti & turns out I have a yeast infection. My doctor said that's what's causing the burning when I pee. I haven't had any itching or anything either so maybe you have a yeast infection too. I heard its easy to get them when pregnant. Good luck hun.

* when pregnant a yeast infection can be treated with Monistat 7. You can get it without a prescription.

Yeast infection and thrush are the same, just a different name.

I have been doing some research online and I have read A LOT of different articles stating that pregnancy hormones can cause this problem? I truly wonder if I do have a yeast/thrush or bv because there is no itching or discharge. I think all of the peeing I'm doing recently is playing a big part in it. I've read about using hydrocortizone will help. I think I may try that and see what happens.

Hydrocortisone is a steroid, it'll calm the itching but if you have thrush or a uti it won't actually cure it - ie it'll treat the symptoms but not eradicate the actual cause. Be careful with steroid creams in pregnancy, you definitely need to use with caution whilst pregnant.

I returned to the Dr (A different one this time, but still not my regular Dr) and they checked again for a UTI and also did a vaginal swab and all was normal. Can hormones cause burning down there? I hope this doesn't last for the entire 9 months. I guess I'll have to cave in and buy some Monistat to get some relief.
