I thought I would..

They don't make horror movies like they used to...but I do kind of want to see Insiduous....even the commercial looked freaky!

I've seen so many horror films that I can never remember the names of them. I'm sure I've seen Insidious. My scariest films are the ones like Blair Witch (only the first one) and Paranormal Activity because you could - or I could - imagine them happening to me. They freak me out. I'm always too scared to go upstairs to the loo on my own afterwards!

And then freaky things keep happening in my house at the moment which doesn't help so I don't even need the horror films. The other morning, my son fell asleep in my bed so I left him there and put the baby monitor on. But the baby monitor is in his room - it's a video monitor one - so rather than move it, I just left the camera part in his room and took the monitor downstairs so I would hear him if he wakes up. Our room is close enough to his room that I would have been able to hear him. Anyway, I could hear some banging on the monitor. I thought that it couldn't be my son because he couldn't make that kind of noise, especially not when he was in my bed so I wondered if one of the cats had got locked in his room. Or if it was just one of the cats because they can and do make that kind of noise. So I went upstairs, my son was still fast asleep and one of my cats was in the other bedroom (it's actually the spare room so we call it her bedroom because she's always in it!), curled up fast asleep and my other cat was downstairs asleep.

So that freaked me out. People told me it was just radio interference but I've never heard this kind. It literally was like someone was opening and closing drawers, rummaging around, etc. Then I got paranoid and decided I wanted to sit with my son - my mind was playing tricks on me by then - so I quickly nipped to the loo and didn't bother shutting the door and I swear I saw a black shadow whiz past the hallway. Wondered again if it was my cat but she was still asleep.

Then downstairs later, I saw something black whiz past my head. Thought it was a fly because my cat saw it as well. Her eyes were on stalks but I never found a fly. Then that evening, I was closing the bedroom curtains (this bedroom overlooks the garden) and I saw an orange glow at the end of next door's garden - this was at about 10.30pm/11pm. I called my husband to come and see but he saw nothing. So again, I was feeling a bit freaked out but then I saw my neighbour making his way back to the house so it was obviously him having a fag. So that one was explained. God knows about the others!

So yeah, I don't really want to watch any horror films at the moment. Especially as my husband thinks I'm a nutcase!

WOW! You kind of freaked me out there! I'd be driving myself nuts!

I love horror flicks...DH doesn't. He gets paranoid during the day that I'm going to do something to him. And no I have NEVER done anything to him it's just his thinking.
Paranormal Activiy (the first one) since a female does something to her bf/dh, my DH thought I would get possessed and do the same. -_- As long as you aren't a bug/insect I could never harm it.

We saw Sinister back in Sept. I thought it was just okay. Too predictable imo. However, DH was scared -_-

I really want to see Mama and Dark Skies, but he refuses to go to them now with me. And the two friends of mine that love horror flicks too...are states away from me. Boo! I asked Daddy if he wanted to see Mama with me when it goes to the budget, he might. He likes horror flicks too (not gory flicks) and my mom doesn't like them either. So might have to make a Daddy/Daughter movie day.

I usually don't get spooked out by movies. Nor do I dream about them, infact, I debunk the movie along the way in my head and if I struggle to debunk it then they did a good job XD However...I have plenty of zombie dreams to go around. My only real fear of anything horror like. And though I have debunked them ever becoming real, my brain hasn't during the night sometimes.

Insidious is one of my favorite movies.I am a fan of supernatural scary movies.Zombie movies or bloody movies don't scare me how the supernatural does.I also liked Silent Hill.Another movie, who make me check if my doors are locked is Missing Meagan, also on Netflix about a teenage girl who gets abducted from a internet freak.Scary!! It makes you hold your kids a little tighter.

Oh,Pet Semetery scared the crap out of me when I saw it first time.I think that is a good scary classic movie:-)

My husband and I are huge fans of horror movies too; we recently rented "The Possession" and although I'm not a huge Exorcism-type-movie fan, I really liked this one. There were quite a few moments we were both holding our breath.

I don't really enjoy horror flicks but every now and then I watch them! The scariest one I have seen (and it could be because I was about 10-11 when it came out) is Secret Window with Johnny Depp, also a Stephen King book, I had nightmares about it for WEEKS! Still have the odd one about it haha

What a great thread - I LOVE horrie flicks!

The one that scared the absolute crap out of me was The Decent. Terrifying Brit flick. If you haven't seen it, its uncomfortable watching but you should give it a bash.

I love Guillermo Del Toro films - the Devil's Backbone is one of my favourites - but Mama looks so terrifying I'm not sure i could watch it! I generally wait until they come out on DVD or Netflix so I can stop/start if I need to and can watch them during the day <<< big scardey!!

Huge horror fan here. My all time favorite it Nightmare on Elm Street. I agree they don't make them like they used to but that doesn't seem to stop me from watching them. I have The Apparition at home waiting for me but DH isn't a big fan of horror movies. I can get him to watch them with me every once in a while but he absolutly hates the ones with exercisms or paranormal activite lol.
I enjoed the Saw moves but got to the point where they were getting to blah for me same goes for the Texas Chainsaw Masacure Movies enough is enough already, I mean I am all about remakes especially with all the special effects now but more then 2 is way too many. Now they want to make everyting in 3D which make it a bit scarier but don't like to pay extra for it.
Anyways that was just my rant on the subject, which by the way I LOVE!!

Oh my Lordy, that's scary. I've had some freaky things happen to me in my old apt. Things that my daughter even witnessed. Lets just say...tall, with a tale, and red eyes with horns. Scariest shit I ever experienced in all my life.

I'm so glad I made this thread! People have mentioned movies I never heard of and now I'm interested lol. Pet Semetary is good. Nightmare on Elmstreet has ALWAYS been a favorite of mine. I liked IT when I was little but not anymore...to me it's hilarious now, not scary. Jason and Michael Myers. My DH LOVES Michael Myers. I think Jason is sooo scary.

I love the Exorcist. One movie I will NEVER watch again is Exorcism of Emily Rose. Scenes from that movie still play in my head and it's been YEARS.

I can't wait for that one to come out!looks so scary in the trailer.
Exorcism of Emily Rose was good too.

Does anyone know if Silent Hill 2 is worth renting out? That is my pick for tonight.

I enjoyed the first Silent Hill, not heard much about the second one though.

I watched Nightmare in Elm St 3 when I was 9 (because my biological father is the most irresponsible parent in the face of the earth!!) and I was actually sick with fear for about 2 months!

Surprised it didn't put me off horrie films for life. I never have watched any of the freddy films as an adult tho!!

Not sure, seen loads of reviews and some say it's better than the first (which I love!), and others say it's not. I never know which one to believe

I will just have to wait and see, as it's on my list for my Bday next month hehe.

I stayed watching Freddy Kruger lol. My mom would yell at me when I'd stay up all night crying though :/ lol

I own this movie refuses to ever whatch it again LOL! However I remember I went and saw this with my mom, who is also a sacry movie lover, I had to go home to my house all by myself and no kidding I woke up at 3:00am and smelt something burning. I of course hid under my covers and did not move lol. I am pretty sure it was a coincidence and the burning smell was because the heater just kicked on, well at least that is what I have been telling my self the past could of years.

LOL oh that movie is not normal. I don't like how she lays all over the floor all twisted. I will never watch it again lol.

Ok this may make me a bad mother but I acutally let my son who was about 3 at the time watch Nightmare on Elm Street. I started watching sacary moveis with my mom at a very yourng age and grew to love them, well that was the first movie that my son acutually sat though the whole thing. For about a year he would watch Nightmare on Elm street and not make a peep. Then something clicked in his head and all of a sudden he was scared lol. He is now 10 and is back in the the sacry movie scene but I will only let him watch the non-gorry ones.

Oh I also want to recomend you see "Warm Bodies" not really scary but I was suprised how good it was. Kind of like a Zombie Romeo and Juliet. Was even funny too.
