I totally do not like the boys name my husband loves...

I don't like the boys name that my husband absolutely loves. Neither of us is budging.

He likes the name Drake because it reminds him of an adolescent dragon.

I on the other hand hear the name Drake & instantly am reminding of a male duck.

I keep trying to get him to think of alternative names even presenting him with other names, but so far no luck...

I may pull the "I'm the mom" card if he doesn't back off, but I'd really like to find sometihng we could both at least agree on.

What do you ladies think?

Mmm... i know how hard it's to find a name that you will like. I had the same problem with my first child... Huh! i'm sure that if you will discuss more names you will find the one that you will like.

Naming my son Drake and I love it! BUT not a lot of people do.

I instantly think of Dragon, because I never heard it refered to as a male duck!

Maybe something similar like others have said? Like Blake or Jake?

If you have to pull the mommy card, then you have to! I just hope you two can agree on something soon!

Now thats one reason never to give the naming responsibility to a man.

Mind you saying that if we have a boy it may well be Ned after his father.

Google the name and see if anything comes up that you could use against it.

Also ask the question what would he have thought if he asked his parents why they chose his name and how he would feel if they said it reminded them of an moody dragon!!!

I don't mind Drake, it's not bad, but since you hate it, maybe try something similar sounding or just use it as a middle name so both of you "win" the battle.

Blake is a really nice name.... maybe he will compromise with you? I think you may have to pull the mommy card bc it's not fair to name your baby a name you don't like! I think you should both try to agree on a name you at least like, if not love!
