Hi all,

Registered on here a while back but not realy posted much til now - and now I have soo many questions, which I'm sure wiill be on here over the coming weeks lol!

I am 16 weeks preg, I have been in a p/t job I dont really like for the last 14 months (I got made redundant in 2008 when credit crunch hit), I'm grateful for the fact I found a new job straight away but its really not working out for me =( they are happy with me though which is a relief!

Anyway I aim to work as far into the preg as possible, giving me more time with LO when he/she arrives in May. I work 4 hrs a day 5 days a week atm to fit in round my 2 other kids & their school. Coming back to this job isnt really financially viable after LO arrives because of the childcare costs, but I do need to work because of bills etc. Hubby changing his hours is not an option, and as he is in a good job I dont him to worry that he would have to ask for any concessions. However I want to find a part time job job that is fulfilling and in the evenings (sorry - not asking for much am I??!!).

Also if I take the paid maternity leave from my current employer, then decide not to come back at the end of it, will I have to pay the money back to them? Sorry, I did warn I had a lot of questions...any advice on the above would be gratefully received...thank you! :flower:

You could be a care worker for the elderly or disabled people? I've seen some night shift jobs around for various care homes. It would be 'unpleasant' work at times I guess but rewarding I imagine.

you 'll have to check your contract about paying money back or a return to work clause. You will be able to keep the SMP part of you maternity pay.

What about evening shifts in a supermarket or late night shops/hospitals?

good luck
xxx

Thank you ladies, must admit working in a hospital had never crossed my mind, I had just concentrated on finding admin/ccounts work like I'm currently doing....but I guess A&E would need recepton staff in the evenings! I'll definitely look into that closer to the time! That'd be challenging, busy and good for my CV!

Thanks again! =)

and apologies for the awful typo errors, darn netbook keeps throwing a wobbly!! :haha:
