tells me that "you think you're tired now, you wait"

I am up about 8 times a night with SPD and needing to go to the toilet, I am exhausted because I am in pain and can't rest properly and I have a dissertation to do..yet am I allowed to mention it without being told "you don't know what tired is yet, how will you cope?"

Sorry I was under the illusion that babies come along, sleep all the time, feed themselves and are toilet trained already and all I have to do is dress her up pretty. Jesus. I swear people think I am still a child!

Rant over

I was up nearly all night when i was pregnant last time and actually when he was born he slep really well so my lack of sleep during pregnancy was alot worse than when he had been born...people have no clue what they are on about!

Haha dragonfly that made me chuckle!

I agree though I've got to a point where I just don't say anything now!

Been there done it twice heard all the stupid sayings even second time around "how you going to cope with two" . Its not as bad as they make out clearly they where crap at it and I wasnt thats why I had no bother with it. :smug: Though dont say that that dosnt go down to well

haha I wouldn't mind but this "advice" is coming from a bunch of uni students with no children!

I am getting a lot of, when my mum was pregnant etc...argh bog off

That annoys me too, it is like we are stupid. People ask how I am, I tell them then they said you wait until she is here.

Yeah but when she is here I won't have to spend 8 hours a day doing a job I hate looking like a zombie. It will be a whole new meaning of tiredness, it is WORTH IT.

yes, sometimes I wish people just stop advising if we do not ask for it.

So true! Roll on mat leave!

This made me laugh. I get the same.

Them: "Oh you are going to get a shock, this is just the tip of the iceberg!"
Me: Fuck off

:)

you know what I found, all the warnings I got when I was first pregnant made me a scared parent, then I had my child and it was nothing like they all said. I dont know what they where doing but I didnt get that. I got more sleep not pregnant , I had bad SPD to and really sore hips. When babies where born both times yes I was tired but I fed them and slept beside them. I got more sleep. Never a nightmare. Never easy either but something you had to do.

Yeah, my best girlfriends say the same thing: It's not nearly as bad as these so-called "helpful" people make it out to be.

I swear, one of these days when someone starts giving me unsolicited advice, I'm going to point at them and scream, "They touched me in a bad place," then run away.

Everyone's a feckin expert - even people who have never had a child like to smugly inform you about sleepless nights like you're thick.

I'll tell you something though, I was always more tired when pregnant, you get used to babies waking in the night a lot easier than carrying a huge bump everywhere with you and the associated aches and pains. So tell them to go light a tampon.

I also want to punch the next person who says why would you want another child, you must be mad crazy stupid etc, no im none of these things or maybe all of them but its none of your fucking business I am not asking you to babysit so whats it got to do with you if I have one or 41 kids, and think it is rude when i have to start explaining that my partner has no children and i am not with my ex husband etc, so we are having one together ok my rant over lol

I'm with you. Up about 8-10 times a night because of SPD, being thirsty or needing the loo. Takes me ages to get back to sleep too. I've had enough of this too now. Do like the duct tape idea though. =P
