be induced at 39 weeks would you go for it?
if not why?
if so then whats your reasons?xx

i really think babies will come when there ready. alice was sooo poorly from being induced and that was on her due date. she spent 3 days in neo natal and wasnt breathin when she was born and took them 5 mins to resuscitate her all because it was too much for her because she wasn't ready to come. obviously if its for medical reasons then its a different story but if its just because you want your baby sooner than its ready then i think its a pretty stupid reason. xxx

Regardless of how uncomfortable I am, how badly my SPD is playing up etc. no I would not choose to be induced at 39 weeks.

Inducement has been factually proven to cause more problems with LO than going naturally, that is why doctors will only induce you before EDD if there is a medical reason to and will leave a woman between 2-3 weeks over because inducement risks. I'd rather stay uncomfortable until LO came naturally or until I was offered inducement, than put my baby into unnecessary risk. Imo, choosing inducement or seeking it out before you are medically advised to have it (whether that be for medical reasons before EDD or for being 2-3 weeks overdue) is pure selfishness.

No, definitely not. I was induced at 39+2 due to pre-eclampsia. But i would never of choosen to be induced early, theres never a 100% that baby is ready to be born, & Its so much worse than a natural labour imo.
Whats another week or so of dealing with the SPD compared to knowing your doing whats best for your child by giving them that little bit extra cooking time. (I suffered with SPD, I know how u feel! Just Keep taking pain killers :) & as soon as baby comes the SPD disappears :) ) x

I wouldn't at 39 weeks. 40 weeks though I'd probably do it if she hadn't come out yet.. But it all would depend on what the drs think, and if she looks big enough and if I had already been having labor signs already.

Only if mine or his life was in danger and it had to be done, I wouldn't just been induced no matter how much I want to see bubba there's obviously good reason for the baby to wanna stay in and cook a bit longer.. But if I was over due then yeah definatley :flower:

Probaly not, unless I had to or something.
I rather be full term, just because I feel better about the baby being fully grown when it's delivered.

no matter how uncomfortable and shit i'm feeling, i wouldn't get induced unless it was for medical reasons. baby will come when he is ready. i wouldn't want to risk anything, just because of my selfishness!

xx

I wouldnt get induced unless it was for a medical reason. I just belive that baby will come when baby is ready and too many people get induced for non-medical reasons

my doctor asked me if i wanted to be induced at 38 weeks or 39 weeks and i said no. only because i wasn't too uncomfortable and i thought i'd at least reach my expected due date. really though, at 37 weeks a baby is already full term so being induced is fine.

i got induced at 40w 2d because i wanted to, i wouldn't say that i'm selfish AT ALL nor was it a stupid decision on my part. i'm very happy i went about things the way i did :flower:

Nope cause i really want to go into a natural labor this time. I was induced with Taye and they induced me to fast i went from no pain to full labor.

If i was very uncomfortable, in pain, etc... then yes. If it was just because. of impatience then no

I probally wouldnt at 39 weeks, maybe at 40 weeks yeah, only if drs advised though

Bbyno1- Can I ask why? Have you been told you might need induction? Or is it just out of interest? :flower:

xx

I probably wouldn't, just because each extra week the baby is in there will make a big difference to their health.. unless there is a problem or i get to 42 weeks i dont want to be induced lol x

Nope, I really don't want to be induced!
I am so uncomfortable, with SPD etc but I think she will come when she is ready, I wouldn't want to go interfering.

xxx

No,

One because being induced can cause harm, baby may be full term BUT induction carried more risks than going into labour naturally and I want to minimise the risks not raise then. As I wanted to give Aidan the best possible chance of getting here safely

Two, I don't understand how anyone can choose and induction unless medically nessicary. As I was induced after 4 days of slow labour they said they had to speed thinsg up. It wasn't a pleasant experiance. I had been coping with the conractions by moving. But as soon as they turned that drip on, I wasn't allowed to move other than on my back with a monitor strapped to me a they had to monitor his HB all the way through (as I said before there is a risk baby will react badly to the drug and they can become distressed)

My OH's brother's gf (lol) was induced at 37 weeks last month  No medical reason... just because she was done with being pregnant!

Once I get to 37 weeks ill be relieved to be full term, but I still want to keep baby cooking as long as I possibly can, cant be good for them being pulled out 3 weeks early for no reason??

xx
