there are seriously some really rude people around who are so inconsiderate!!

so today i went into town shopping as i needed loads of bits, so im strolling down the highstreet with all my bags struggling to get to the bus stop, baby is showing now so ive got a pretty obvious bump, i've also got a 'baby on board' badge for when im travelling. so after trampelling down the highstreet with all these bags of shopping, i finally manage to get on the bus and sit down with all my bags, and some woman, came over to me and had the front to say, 'excuse me, can you move, those seats are for people less able to stand'.. -_-.. less able to stand?? i could of punched her! i ended up giving her the full extent of my day, trampelling through with all my bags at nearly 24 weeks pregnant and she wants me to just stand up when there is a seat there free for me to sit on? she gave me a really dirty look and just stood there staring at me my whole journey home..

am i in the wrong for sitting down? really? xx

Honestly, if there was a free seat and there was no one else who absolutely needed it then I don't see the problem with you sitting there. I would have done the same thing. Of course I would have moved if I saw someone who needed it more than me, but if no one else was there then I really don't understand what she was upset about.

there was no one who needed it at all, the other seats were all free so it was just the front priority seats that were free and there was no one else getting on :/ xx

argh this happened to me not so long back! this man said he needed the seat more than me - he looked like he would have been the best person to stand!

i think it's cos they can see you're young and pregnant - they have to have a nit pick at you to make you feel worse about yourself. honestly if i was hormonal enough i would have slapped that man - i sure am now!

Definitely not! Not on a bus but I elbowed someone in the co-op one day because I was 8 months pregnant and he elbowed me really hard in the bump and didn't even apologise! :growlmad: So me being hormonal did it to him when he walked behind me.. It was an accident.. :haha:

Oh hell no...If someone said that to me after struggling like that and everything I woulda said "well when someone less able to stand needs this seat,THEN ill move...but until then I NEED this seat" Thats so rude, its like when my mom uses the electric wheelchair shopping cart thing in a grocery store and people ask her to get out of it because shes not old....but shes still very disabled and has a right to use it....ughhh people just make me so damn madddd lol

I would have lost my anger. I'm way to hormonal right now for things like that >.>

Of course it wasn't wrong for you to want to sit. Honestly, I would've been so irritated with that lady and told her to fuck off. If the seat was free and no one was sitting in it, you're less able to stand, you're pregnant!!

I wuld have been so mad! Good for your for giving her a piece of your mind! I would have too!

Wow, that would have made me so angry! Some people really just couldn't care less :/

Urgh some people!! When I was pregnant with my daughter I had someone tell me to get on the bus first coz I needed a seat bless her!

I'm "disabled"....but I still give up my seat for the pregnant ladies...and hope someone will be kind enough to do the same for me when the time comes! I've had years to adjust to my aches and pains....I would assume it's come on so fast for a pregnant woman that they're just coping! lol That's how I rationalize it, anyways. ;)

I agree with a previous poster and would have said "When someone who needs it more than me comes on the bus, i'll move. Until then, I need it" and left it at that. What a bitch.

You were more than entitled to the seat! Hold your head proud...you were SOOOO in "the right" here!
