Hello ladies,

First time I've taken provera and clomid, and now I'm a little confused.

Provera gave me a period YAHEEE!

Stopped taking the provera, started clomid on day 2 like it says too,

thats all great but I'm now confused as to when ( if at all!) I'm meant to ovulate and when to take provera again to induce another period if I don't fall pregnant?

I'm due to have a blood test on day 21 but my doctor has said not to have provera for another 8 weeks just incase i fall pregnant and to do a pregnancy test before i take the provera again, does that sound right to you?

Sorry for the long and winded post!

Hope you are all keep well and sending baby dust to you all xx

Are you being monitored by ultrasounds or are you going to do OPKs or temping? I chose Femara instead of Clomid but they are very similar.

After taking the 5 pills (or however many as directed by your doctor) you may or may not ovulate depending on how you respond. (I didn't respond on the lowest dose of Femara the first round and did finally after they upped it the 2nd round). Many people get ultrasounds at cd12 to check follicle growth to see if they will be ovulating and to estimate when. I personally use OPKs as well to let me know when I ovulate because I'm too lazy to temperature. So once you ovulate you wait two weeks to see if you're pregnant or not. And if you take hpt's after you've missed the period after two weeks after ovulation and you're still not pregnant after some time (doctor may want to do blood tests to confirm that you're not pregnant) then you take Provera again to induce a period if it hasn't started on it's own. I hope that helps!

thank you for replying :)

I am not having ultrasounds so shall be buying opk, but suffering from pcos I'm not sure if they give false readings so am not to sure?

Also can you do Femara after trying Clomid because you can only use Clomid for 6 rounds?

Hi Pixie I also have PCOS and I am taking clomid. I took provera in January to induce a period and then took 50mg clomid days 3-7. I did ovulate (CD 20) and my levels were high which indicates I released more than one egg however my period came so I am now on round two. If you ovulate but dont get a BFP then you should get a period and wont have to take provera again. If you dont ovulate on the dose your on you may need to take provera again. I was told if I hadnt had a BFP or period by cd45 they would bring me in to see what was going on. Also, PCOS I believe can give false OPK however I am using them and got a positive 2 days last month (then later it was confirmed i had ovulated) and again today they have gone positive again so they can work for you. Good luck xx
