Its so incredibly depressing.

Any positive stories to get it back into shape?

Also, I'm completely numb on the bottom of my stomach as they cut through the nerves obviously- does this come back?

I only just had my section so can't speak from experience but my aunt had a section and her stomach went back to normal she had the over hang until about 8 months and with ab crunches she's back to normal. X

the numbness takes time to go. when pain has sybsided and u feel up to exercising that will help. it takes time and for some it will be longer.

I also wondered if this overhang will every go I had my emergency c section a month ago and I am still numb on my right side they did say that feeling should come back but it can take a while I'm hoping it doesn't take to long because it feels quite strange lol x

numbness takes a while, with my previous section 2 yrs ago....i couldnt even tell id had one around 8 months later. No scar and no hang!! this time its 0ne month on and the numbness is minimal, scar fading and i still have a belly!!!!

I am 10 weeks post partum and I am just now starting to get feeling back in my lower abdomen. I have been doing crunches and such. I do still have an overhang, but I am obese, so I expected as such. My belly is not back to the same size as it was pre-pregnancy. But it is getting smaller by the day.

I've got the dreaded overhang, and I'm also still numb in some patches of my lower abdomen. It is freaking weird!

my section was an emergency after 31 hours of hard labor and i've had a lot of bad feelings about my body but most ppl have assured me that the overhang will go

I've still got a slight overhang but it's loads better than it was. And that's with just a bit of walking. I don't know if it will go completely, I guess if you are willing to really work hard at the gym it would x

I don't think any of us have time! LOL. I would love to work out really hard but I just can't get the time yet. Maybe when LO is bigger I'll be able to. Right now I walk every day (except this week, I'm really sick) and push the stroller and try to just get some exercise.....

I'm trying to eat well but it's hard being on the go all the time

I posted in your other thread but I guess you didn't get a chance to read it!

I used a compression belt after my section straight away. You can order one from the Internet. They range in price, but some of them are specifically for after baby is born.

It worked well for me! I am 4 months PP and was in my prepregnancy jeans about 6 weeks after LO was born. And I didn't get an overhang. It's worth a try I think!

I had a section with my son 15yrs ago...it took a while for the numbness to go but it did. I always had a slight overhang nothing too bad exercise helped. I'm worried this time it wont go as easily I'll be having an elective end of Jan.

Crayz can you tell me the name of the compression belt you used that's suitable for straight after? I never had anything like that last time but am interested it trying it this time :flower:

This is a good idea ^ I used a diy version - leggings and hold'em in pants, and it did have an affect on my overhang. Mine didnt improve until about 1 year pp though, and it is still there a bit.
On the upside my tummy and waist are slimmer than they used to be - in fact my whole body shape has changed. I was horrified when I first saw the overhang - I had no idea it would be there! I thought my husband would find it disgusting but he didnt bat an eyelid. Ive learned to live with it now, which is good Im too lazy to care really ;) xx

Gemlou-I wish I remembered the name of it, and I just shipped it to a friend, so I don't even have it anywhere. I ordered it from Amazon, they have tons so you could check there and see which one you like best. I did also buy a "Squeem" for once the compression belt was too big as I had read a lot of good reviews on it. I never even used it because I didn't need it. The compression belt was plenty. I know "Belly Band" makes one but I think it's a little more expensive. I think I paid no more than like $20.00 US for mine.

I had a Belly Bandit that I used, it was really good but I just got tired of wearing it after a couple weeks.

I hate my body ATM

My belly didn't really go down until I lost all the pregnancy weight which was at around 9 months PP. I've got a bit of an overhang still but you can't really notice it unless I'm naked. The numbness took a while to go. My tummy and abdomen still feel a bit strange, mostly because they wobble more than they did before! The feeling has come back though except for directly under the scar. I haven't done any stomach exercises. Mine has gone through breastfeeding and walking lots.

My scar and lower tummy are still numb 5 months pp...it is such a weird feeling and sometimes the scar gets a bit sore but nothing horrendous.

I had a bit of an overhang for a couple of weeks until the swelling went down but I don't have it anymore. I thought I was going to have an awful time losing the weight but oddly I was back in my prepregnancy clothes within 3 weeks. I'm sure I won't be so lucky the next time...I think it was a fluke! :

Don't worry! The overhang goes away with diet
And exercise. My
Stomach isn't exactly how it
Was pre pregnancy but it's close enough where I feel
Comfortable wearing form fitting clothes. I can flex my lower abdominals and I regained feeling after 2 years or so (yeah, took forever!)

The overhang was the last thing to go. It really took a lot of ab work outs but the results were worth it! :)
You can do it. Take it slow. Be kind to yourself- your body did an incredible thing making that beautiful baby. If it can make a person, it can shrink back
To pre pregnancy form ;)

Xoxo

I'm 11weeks PP. I have no overhang(about 4 inches above my scar is actually flat) but I still have a bit of a tummy above that.
I exercised my stomach muscles from start of week 3 PP. I did this by pulling my stomach in and out (a bit like stomach push ups) I did it even though o couldn't feel a thing.

I also used a belt at the same time. Its called Abdomend. The part that goes over the incision has an extra bit that makes it tight hence the flatness. Its not very tight on the stomach though that's why I still have a tummy.

You can use it straight after csection. You can shrink it if it becomes too big as you slim down.BUT I found it pricey.

Hope this helps.

Iv got a horrible belly flap lol, and im guessing it will only be worse after this baby. I had my last section 6 years ago, and I still can't feel the bottom part of my stomach
