Hi everybody, hope your all ok :)

Anyway i'm 33weeks preg and not booked into a hospital!!!
I moved from blackpool to derbyshire a few weeks ago, and have now been waiting since then to get the hospital to ring me and sort out a booking appointment. I don't even have a number for the hosp or my new midwife, so if something happens i dunno what i'm going to do lol. Its getting me very stressed out, and the midwife said she won't see me now until i have been to hospital, at the rate we're going that'll be when baby is born in a barn haha!!

Just needed a moan i think, but am stressing.

:hugs: hope it gets sorted - keep on at them, ring every day and eventually they'll get fed up and book you in!
tbh I can't imagine they'd turn you away if you went into labour!

i kept on at them, i moved at 32 weeks to bath and kept ringing loads of people. have you registered with your gp? becuase they gave me all the numbers and i rang the gp midwife, the labour ward and the community midwife team before getting a booking appointment and it took 2 weeks, so i missed an appointment at 32 weeks, and 34 weeks (but she did check baby for me at the booking) and finally saw my midwife at 36weeks. i now have my birth plan appointment at 38weeks. its been really hard and frustrating to keep ringing and everyone acting like im being a pain but oh well.
keep trying! xx

Have you registered with ur GP? They should fast track your referral to the maternity ward/unit as you are further along! I moved at 38 weeks with my first child, and My GP managed to get me registered and booked in with a tour of the maternity unit within about 5 days of arriving!
I would keep on at ur GP hun, as him/her contacting them is more likely to be sucessful than you calling i guess x Hope u get sorted x

I moved at 37 weeks and it was a bit of a panic. I had to register with my GP first before I could get a midwife appointment before I could get booked into the hospital. A GP appointment wasn't available for a week and then I couldn't get an appointment for the midwife for another 4 weeks as she was fully booked. A week past my due date!!!
I just stood my ground with the receptionist and told her I wasn't going away until they found an appointment for me to see a midwife that week. It's amazing what suddenly turns up!

Once I saw her, she personally invited me to hospital on her round and gave me a tour.

Good luck, hope you get it sorted soon.

I have this problem!! I am moving back to my mums at 37 and a half weeks. This is only temporary but I am seriously confused!! I called the birthing unit today and she was lovely, but not much help, she just said I needed to book into the birthing unit after I have registered with my GP.

so annoying :(

Hi Ladies,
Thanks for the responses i was just ranting about it lol. Am all registered with the GP n stuff just waiting for them now. I do keep ringing everyday though so they can't ignore me forever haha!!

Maybemomsarah - i have no idea people just keep telling me not tameside so i think that leaves stepping hill doesn't it lol

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Just wanted to reassure you that if you are due to be booked into Derby Royal, it is a fantastic hospital from my experience. I hope you get it sorted soon. :hugs:

I'm at Stepping Hill too. The number of the antenatal clinic manager is 0161 419 5291. Hopefully, they can point you in the right direction!

Thanks at least i have a phone number now :)
i'm in glossop so not that far away from you

Hi hun, I had a bit of experience with this earlier. I haven't moved yet but am when I am 37 weeks. After not knowing what the hell to do I just emailed the head of the birthing centre. She emailed me back almost straight away saying I can book in in the next 2 weeks and still keep my antenatal going where I live until I move :)

Thanks at least i have a phone number now :)

There's also Corbar Birthing Centre in Buxton that might be an option for you. They have done my antenatal scans since they are closer to me than SH. They are on 01298 212217.

I have now recieved a letter after 4weeks wait!!
Av got to be at SH at 8:15am!! its a 40min drive with my 3yo!! and the appointment is 2hrs long, this should be erm... Fun lol

Wow good luck...least you're making progress :)
