Sorry if this seems silly, but I figured it's the best place for me to ask it. I'm 28 (nearly 29 
) and have been TTC for the last three and a half years. Last year I was told I have PCOS and I've been seeing a fertility specialist since February. The last two months I've been taking femara and doing mid cycle scans to see if I should take a trigger shot or not. That's where my confusion begins.
I do opks starting at day 11 just to make sure I don't miss it, and went in on Wednesday for my scan. At that point they found a few follicles that were clearly visible but not close enough to trigger on, the biggest being at 14. The nurse did the math and said it would be four days before it was ready for me to trigger so the doctor wanted me up go back Friday to check if it had grown anymore. When I went back in they couldn't find any of those follicles! The nurse again went to talk to the doctor and I was told he thinks I ovulated, but I never got a positive opk. Also, if I did in fact ovulate that means my follicles did some steroid level growing, increasing enough for four days in two. My fear is that they're just trying to help me not be crushed and I really didn't ovulate so this is another wasted month.
Has anyone else had anything even remotely simular to this happen that could possibly help me out? Add much as I'd love for the answer to be sugar coated and sweet I really just need to know what's going on.
