Had my first fertility appointment with the specialist... His initial plan was femara trigger and iui (due to low progesterone) ... Then he found a fibroid size of racet ball then he said ... He wanted the tubal dye test... and possibly surgery to remove fibroid)...Now my blood work came back and is off said my prolactin high and wants more labs.. but I have to wait until the start of my period....I went from my gyno saying I had unexplained infertility to everything being off... Has anyone had this happen??? I'm not sure if it's a good thing that are finding this out bad

Hi Bee0633,

Sorry to hear your news. I thought about this and my maybe it is a good thing in that they've found something that they can then actually help you with. If they find something that is possibly preventing it, theyb know how to support you and therefore down the line it should help your chances. I have unexamined fertility so they don't know how to help us.

I know you are probably still in shock but be positive in that maybe this is your answer that will lead you to a BFP.

wishing you all the best!

So sorry you have a bit of a setback. If you hadn't had the HSG test or bloodwork done, though, then how could the gyno tell you had unexplained infertility? Had they not found the fibroid, is that what you mean?

Anyway when you finally get thoroughly checked or make the move to an RE it's a shock since they know a lot more of what to look for but I agree with goingforit, it's so much more reassuring to know what is wrong so they can work on overcoming it.

I'm not incredibly familiar about fibroids but at that size they may recommend removing before proceeding. While not fun at all I'm sure to here, you still have lots of hope.

Also my prolactin was high my first test as well and they had me do a fasting test then and it came back within normal range. I think that's slightly more accurate but normally they just group the test in with the other blood tests.

Good luck.
