Is the name Iman/Imaan too feminine? It's technically a unisex name, the Arabic word for faith/belief... I've mostly heard it on women, and it ends with the "anne" sound which is feminine, but it also ends with "man" which could sound masculine? lol

What is your impression?

If i saw the name id think boy. Id not even consider it to be a girl. Ive honestly never met an imaan though

I know a few boys called Imaan. Lovely name. Amaan is nice too.

I am muslim, and we do use this word a lot to express our faith in God.
It is a beautiful name. If it were for a girl I think Imani might work better especially in the US/UK. But for a boy it's perfect. I don't think anyone would question gender

I'm so glad that it passes well for a boy! :) I was worried about Iman the model having a lot of influence over making this a girl name... And I know two women named Imane so I initially associated it more to the female sex. Less feminine without the E at the end though.

My daughter asked me what his name would be yesterday night and was looking at me with a quizzical look, "Mom, I don't know any other Arabic names than Mohamed..." I asked her what she thought of Mohamed, she thinks it's a decent choice. Then I said it might be Ameen/Amin and both kids were like, "Yes, Ameen, Ameen, it's a good one!" and then when I said Iman, she heard and thought "a man" right away and found it weird and not right.

Just based on that little conversation Ameen has become more of a front-runner. Husband doesn't love it and wants Ayman but I've tested it out on a couple people and the fact that it's hymen without the H I can't unhear. lol

Hahaha the Hymen part is hysterical. Ameen is a great name too:)
