I had the GTT a week and a half ago, it came back fine for before the Lucozade (4.7) but very high 2 hours after (11.4), they prefer it below 7.7 apparently.
You've probably been told everything about it by now so this is for others who find this thread. This late on in pregnancy there's very little anyone can do (I'm nearly 39wks) so they just sent me home with an Accu-Chek kit to check my sugar levels 4 times a day and monitor them. I also got told to try and watch my sugar/saturates intake until the birth.
At this stage they're not worries about the baby growing too big as he's pretty much stopped growing. The baby is producing insulin to cope with the mum's sugar levels while he's inside, if the sugar levels are too high when the baby comes out his sugar levels are much lower but he continues to produce the same amount of insulin so his blood pressure plummets. They fix it with a drop but there's obviously a risk and no one wants their baby in intensive care even if it's only over night!
I got the kit on thursday and have to call tomorrow and let them know how it's going,m I've had a few high results but my morning ones are fine... I'll just have to see what they say as I wanted a water birth!!!
