What will you be doing? Since me and OH have been together we always used to either go to his mums for dinner and mine for tea or vice versa no we have LO I don't know whether to do a xmas dinner at home this year and start making our own family traditions or wait til Marnies older then start? What will you guys be doing or what did you do when you had your first?:flower:

Well we started our own christmas traditions, but didnt stay at home.
We always have christmas dinner at my mums then go to MIL at tea time.
But on Boxing day we make that our christmas day, i make a turkey dinner and we have a special present each saved for boxing day!

We always go to my Grans for Christmas dinner (15 of us that is) and mums on Christmas night for like a buffet and silly (drunken) family games.

I cant see us breaking out of this really. We just do our own thing on Boxing Day. :)

To me Christmas day is about being with everyone and eating as a big group, Me, Darren & Hallie eat alone every day of the week. I enjoy going out and having the get together and it's more fun as you can have a laugh.

My inlaws have never invited us for xmas day or anything :haha: We usually have xmas dinner at my Mums, then the whole family goes to my Aunts for tea. I love everyone getting together as we don't get much of a chance. Then Boxing day my OHs parents come to us for the morning, then we spend dinner at my Grandmas with the family again.

we'll be staying at my dads christmas day and boxing day, as we dont drive so he has to pick us up and bring us home so couldnt expect him to do lots of driving all on christmas day.
as for inlaws tbh i couldnt care less about seeing them:haha: but i think they are popping round christmas morning to give chloe her presents but im hoping i dont have to endure too much time over the festive period with them, i may ship oh off there with chloe when im at work:haha:

we always have went to my mums for dinner and then used to visit family all day. Since having LO we still have lunch at mums, only lives round the corner, anyone that wants to see us then comes to our house early morning. Afternoon is for ourselves. Boxing day we go to inlaws house, for a long boring day

We stay in our home. i think its only fair for Amelie. TBH I dont want his parents here and OH isnt bothered. I do however, want my mum and brother here. Last year we got out of it cos they went to a restaurant with some other people and we said we didnt want to go, the year before they came over and i hated it.

Just the day to our selfs..

Before Kyle we would do one year my parents, next year his parents..
Kyles first christmas we had dinner at my mums, and the inlaws round in the morning for presents.
Kyles second christmas just the 3 of us..

This year Kyles 3rd christmas and babys 1st will be just the 4 of us.

I believe in making it about the children not the adults so therefore I wont drag kyle away from his pressents and home just to please X,Y or Z person

We rotate Christmas day.

Last year we went to my mums so this year we are going to MILs and her husbands

FIL and his wife are awful hideous creatures so the less we see if them the better ;)

We see DH's parents for maybe an hour or so before heading back to my mums for dinner & night time buffet & drunken games x
DH has 5 brothers & 4 of them go to his mums for dinner every year so dont think she misses us lol x

1st christmas together - at his parents then my parents in evening (MIL moaned and said how I ruined her christmas)
2nd christmas together - I did christmas for his family & my family at our home (MIL moaned and said how I ruined her Christmas)
3rd christmas together (first as a married couple and with our first baby) - I insisted we had it alone ... (MIL moaned and said how I ruined her Christmas)
this year - We have MIL & FIL coming here christmas eve until boxing day ...... I might as well leave home now :(

I will be staying at home, will probs have mum and her partner over, then my dad and step mum will visit in the morning... x

We seem to have it set out pretty well, and we'll probably do the same thing when we eventually have a lo.

We do pressies and lunch at my mum's (Chris is the one normally cooking lol), and then we travel across to Cheshire to spend Christmas evening with his parents, and other family members.

I love it, as it means we get to spend half the day roughly with each side of the family :happydance:

We have had our own dinner @ home since we got married. We said at the time it meant we didn't have to break "traditions" when a baby came along, or take kids away from new toys. So we obv are the same now we have Abbie.
We have always said though, anyone who wants to call and see us/ what santa brought is more than welcome after lunch!

we do MIL on xmas eve as kids are all same ages

Christmas morn and dinner- Just us

Christmas afternoon- my mum pops over, xmas evening FIL comes over and his partner

boxing day at my mums.

We have christmas at my house at the moment. I have done this since I moved into our house as it takes some of the stain off my mother. :flower:

My mum comes, my MIL, and my sister might come this year with my gorgeous nephews !!!:happydance:

We will be spending the day at the in-laws as my family lives 2000 miles away :nope: I love it though as they are wonderful people and treat me as if I am their daughter.

The last 2 christmas' we have been with the OH's family, so this xmas we are going to my mums, and next year we're staying home!

The first Christmas after dd was born mil came to us Christmas eve - that was hard work

Last year we went to my sister's for a bit, then to mil's as bil, his wife and their dd were here from the us

This year mil is going to the us so thinking we will go to my sister's as her ds is only bait older than mine and she does a buffet (with lots of haribos!!!)

Boxing day we always see fil and his wife
