As I am fairly new to this site I have heard wonderful things about it!
I am 23 years old and have had PCOS since the age of 12. I have always had irregular periods, maybe 3 a year. I have been trying to conceive for a few years now. After trying the Metformin for years i gave up. My Ob told me my body just isnt producing any eggs.

Strangely enough for the past Month or so i have been spotting every day or for the least every other day along with Discharge. I have taken 3 pregnancy test and it came back negative about 1 week ago. Today the spotting got a little heavier than usual, but did not last anything more than a minute.

Google lead me in so many different directions, Cancer, Pregnancy, Ovulation, Period signs, Or just plain old PCOS taking its course.

This scares me because i have had PCOS for so many years and have never experienced this... Am i the only one, if not can some one please help:cry:

You need to get a referral to a reproductive endocrinologist. It's not likely you're going to ovulate on your own if your cycles are that irregular. You've tried for long enough on your own. Definitely be asking for Clomid.

Have you looked into getting your thyroid checked? I would go to an endocrinologist. I have hypothyroidism and had to use Femara to get pregnant.

Thanks for the respond. My OB did tell me about the Clomid, but she said I would have to literally get a period before she can start me on it. She said that with out getting a regular period it was near impossible to conceive.

Thanks for the respond. My thyroid level has always been a little off but it has never really been anything to crazy where I needed to get treatment. But I will definitely ask about Femara. I have heard about it but honestly I have never looked into in. This has just been a weird couple of weeks with this spotting.

She could give you a 10 day course of provera to start your period and then you could take the clomid.

Your doctor does not sound very helpful.

Agreed! My doctor put me on Provera for 2 cycles to start my period. 10mg for 5 days then femara Cycle day 3-7.

Definitely agree with this here! Your doctor doesn't sound very knowledgeable and should have definitely passed you on to a specialist by now since this is obviously not their forte.
Spotting is very common in PCOS, especially if you haven't had a period in quite some time. Your lining could have become unstable, so you will start losing small amounts of it and it will be noticed as spotting.
I would go see a different doctor or ask for a referral to an RE. You usually have to try for one year to get pregnant before getting a referral, UNLESS you have an underlying condition which you know will keep you from getting pregnant easily. You definitely meet both of those criteria.
You should be given provera or prometrium to start a period and then clomid or femara to induce ovulation. You should be given at least 3 cycles to try before re-evaluating.

Definitely be your own advocate and know that you deserve more from a doctor than what you are getting. I envy your patience as I would not have been able to have put up with that doctor business you have!
