I live with my parents and I'm on income assistance, But I've been thinking about getting my own place on this but my case worker hasn't been answering and I just want to get this figured out. Is anyone on it or know someone on it? How hard is it to live on this? I'll just be with my 10 mmonth old, want to have our own space again. I was looking at places online and there's a lot of 2 spacious bedroom apts with heat and electricity included for 700$ real nice places too, and some even have free wifi or/and cable and dryer washer and everything. I just don't know how it'd all work, would they pay for the damage deposit too? If anyone knows anything about this please let me know!!:)

Usually they won't pay your deposit , you have to come up with that money. I had trouble finding a place on income support because people didnt care that I had money come in try wanted tenants with steady employment and good credit

There are some other places that can sometimes help with damage deposits like Red Cross , but you have to find a landlord that will crept you first .

700 is pretty cheap but keep in mind your rent should only be 30% of your income .
Utilities can be anywhere from 100 -200 in the summer and gas is more in the winter . Also budget for around 200-400 for groceries a month .

Good luck
