induction / active birth : can the 2 go together?

I forgot to say- I was allowed to stand up, but I had to stay on the monitors, and they kept sliding off, and I couldn't pull my nightie down over the monitors because that made them move more, and my waters leaked more every time I moved so I couldn't wear knickers :dohh: so standing up was pointless.
I would have ended up with this type of birth whatever happened though, I was polyhydraminous and had my waters broken in theatre- I wouldn't have gone naturally.

i was shouted at every time i moved cause the monitor lost the trace on my daughter. just awful

Just got back from seeing my midwife.
She spoke to hospital again, they wanted me in on 24th latest.
I refused and my MW backed me up.
She then asked if they did weekend inductions, which they dont and suggested 25th June.
Again - I refused, its my birthday!!!
Woman at hospital said she understood and would call back....
Meanwhile, MW gave me my 3rd sweep!!! said she would be a bit rougher than normal, I said fine, didn't hurt last time anyway..
Turns out I have gained an extra 0.5cm since Sunday evening sweep so I am now 3cm.
MW said waters are so bulgy she could actually easily break them.
Everything else fine with me and baby.
Hospital called back, they will take me on Saturday at 9.30am.
MW confirmed and expalined my status, expressed my concerns over induction and said that she wants me to have 4hrs of no interference after they break my waters for contractions to start naturally (she reckons they will easily in that time). If after the 4hrs nothing, I will have to have the hormone drip and become immobile.
As I am so far gone already I don't need anything other than my waters breaking.
FINGERS CROSSED it happens by itself before Saturday and if it doesn't those 4hrs of active labour will bring on the contractions without need of that drip.
As long as I can move I don't mind the induction too much....

aw that's great news, so good you have a supportive mw like that!!

Hmmm...
I have been sat on the floor sorting out my sons messy drawers of crumpled clothes and felt rather wet down below....
When I stood up I had a trickle, like a little wee.... I had no control to stop/start it.
Warm and clear.
When I bend over more comes out and I have soaked my underware and trousers so I have put a pad on... waiting for MW to call me back.
GULP.

Hey this could be it for you and no induction - good luck xxxxx

I had an induction and I had a really positive experience (my birth story is in birth announcements). I was lucky enough to have a wireless monitor though so was not attached to the monitor by wires which I think made a big difference as was able to mobilise as much as possible. I was attached by the drip but that was not too restrictive considering.

Fingers crossed if your waters have gone you will start naturally though!

All the best!!
