Whats the difference between pess and drip.......................

I believe the pes they stick in your vagina to soften and dilate. The drip is usually for women already favorable to birth and outs you into labor usually quickly.

The pessary is like a tablet that they put in your cervix to help it ripen and stimulate contractions. You have to lie down for 30 mins for it to absorb then they encourage you to walk around.

This is usually given first to induce labour and the drop is given after artificially breaking your waters as a final try of inducing (depending on circumstances).

The drip is intravenous so the hormones goes straight into your blood for a fast effect. The amount of hormone entering the body is adjusted so your cervix ripens but without contractions coming too often and being too painful. In my area this isn't used much because of the added risks of hyper stimulation (although my uterus naturally did this anyway) and you need constant monitoring.

Xx
