inexpensive wedding abroad? ideas please? or uk?

I got married in Barbados in June and had a week honeymoon in st Lycia and saved 10grand!! Plus you guaranteed nice weather and only the people you really want will come. We had a lovely time and would highly recommend it!!!

Well it depends where and what sort of wedding you want, and whether you'll be paying for guests to go, and if not, whether they can afford it etc etc. Overall it's of course cheapest to go for a registry office in the UK but I'm guessing you don't want that. What sort of things were you thinking?

Weddings abroad are usually cheaper because they are on a smaller scale!
I've heard a lot of people recently saying that their wedding abroad has still cost as much because they have come back and done the evening reception here or they've had a lot of guests go out with them!

I think it all depends what you want and on what scale!

Your wedding will be as cheap or as expensive as you want. Doesn't matter where you are. Like Emy says, it comes down to what YOU want. If you want a big wedding with everyone there then uk will probably be cheaper (unless guests pay for themselves). What type of day do you want? What is most important to you?

Yeah I looked into it, and actually it wasn't going to be any cheaper for me to get married abroad, and I'm only having a small wedding (and would have expected guests to pay for themselves to come abroad). My wedding isn't costing anywhere near what a lot of people spend, you just need to decide what you want For us we had the option of spending 10k on our wedding - but we could use that money better elsewhere so weve gone for cheaper options, and i'm not missing out on anything I want xx

It all depends what you want, we are looking at spending 5k plus anything our parents give us which is about the same as what it would cost to go abroad.

it would only be me my OH and daughter lol, parents arent the type to socialise and I feel abroad would be the best way to go, but I really dont want to be spending to much, maybe 2 grand including the honeymoon. me and my OH feel more comfortable going abroad for some reason, it sounds more appealing

Then go abroad. If its what you both want then you'll only regret it if you don't. Have a look online for packages and go and see a few travel agents. It can of course be done cheaper but depends if you want the hassle of contacting all the necessary people yourself or not
