I didnt get any infection but some signs of infection would be increased redness, swelling, and drainage at the incision along with fever. Also foul smelling lochia can be a sign of uterine infection. Pain is normal but if you get no relief with pain medication you should call you doctor. And if you think you have an infection call you doctor's office and let them know your symptoms and they will let you know if you should go in to be seen.
Hi i had scar infection twice after my section at 3weeks and 10weeks both lasting 4weeks each time. for me my scar was really red, sometimes purple, very sore, smelly anything that slightly touches it was sore.
I also had a wound infection after my first emergency c-section.
It was really red, very sore, was 'ooozing' (quote from the midwife) and I had a high sky temperature.
I was re-admitted into hospital for a night. Was treated for an 'unknown hospital contracted infection' ... nice.
There were no problems at all after I got home and the scar looks no different to my second baby's scar.
I've had two infections since my section. It started off feeling very sore, it felt as if my underwear was constantly rubbing against it even tho i made sure it wasn't. Then the end of my wound got red and the skin kind of come apart, then it started oozing a little bit! Go doctors and they will give you anti-biotics x
I had an infection, where a little hole appeared in my scar! Sorry for the TMI but it started smelling slightly even when I washed it 4-5 times a day and was weeping! Can you get someone to check it for you?!
