Hi All, Firstly apologies if this is posted in the wrong section, I realise this is a question for people local to the Glasgow area but thought it might be better to post this here instead of the regional bit of the forum as this gets more traffic - sorry if that was the wrong thing to do.

My question is related to the hospitals in the Glasgow area where I can get private treatment - namely Nuffield, Ross Hall, Victoria Infirmary and the Southern General. I have private healthcare through work and have checked if it includes fertility treatment. Apparently, investigating the causes of infertility is covered but assisted conception is not.

I was wondering if anyone with experience of treatment at any of the above hosptals can give me advice about which one is the best one to go for in terms of care/waiting times etc

Thanks in advance

Sorry i can't help as i dont live in Glasgow but i would start by calling them and asking them, good luck.

Hi petal, i have had investigations and treatments done in Glasgow but unfortunately not at any of the hospitals you have listed.
I went to the assisted conception unit at the Royal Infirmary. The care i recived was excellent, everyone was supportive and sympathetic, not a bad nurse or doctor there. I did have to wait a while to get referred but when it came to waiting for my treatment they considered the time from the referral and the waiting for actual treatment wasnt long at all.

Hi Petal,
Sorry can't give u any advice on above named hospitals but there is a private clinic in Glasgow the GCRM website is https://www.gcrm.co.uk/ they are fantastic I had my first treatment there didn't work but just one of those things however they do have some of the highest sucess rates in the contry with allot of top people in the fields working there and they are so nice/supportive I would recommend them 200% as soon as all test etc are done u can really start when u want..

Good luck
xx

Thanks for all the replies - I will contact each one and try to decide which one to go with. Unfortunately only the diagnostic tests are covered and any treatment is not covered but at least it will get the ball rolling.
Thanks Again!!

Hi hunny, if you have the option to avoid the Victoria and the Southern then please do. Ultimately you'll end seeing the same specialists probably but at least you will be in cleaner and more pleasant surroundings.

The Nuffield and the GCRM that someone else mentioned are probably the two I would chose going on general reputation. I didn't even know ROss Hall had a fertility section though my hubby has been treated there for sciatica. Again very pleasant place.
