I had my initial glucose testing done at 28 weeks and it came back at 140 which they said was slightly elevated. They want it to be 130 or below. Now they want me to do the three hour glucose study on Monday to see if it is gestational diabetes or not. I am really worried, although the number doesn't seem that high to me. If I can just control it with diet, then do I really need the test? I am super bummed too because I haven't gained much weight, have been eating well, blood pressure is great, and baby is measuring at the 50th percentile, so everything seems fine! Does anyone have similar numbers that turned out ok or other stories? Any advice? Thanks in advance!!!!

Alot of moms fail the 1 hour. I had 139 and they wanted it under 135. I took it again and passed with really great numbers! Its a pain in the butt to sit there so long, but your probably gonna pass :)

As pp said, the majority of moms who fail the one hour go on to pass the three hour. That being said, don't feel bad if you end up with GD. It can happen to anyone. I had it with my son and I was 25 years old, 109 pounds at 5'3'' and 22 weeks pregnant when I found out I had it. I failed with a 135. I exercised and had only gained four pounds from my prepregnancy weight. Go figure. But honestly, the odds are in your favor that you'll pass the three hour test. Good luck and don't worry too much. My GD was controlled 100% by diet and I had a healthy baby boy in Sept. 2012.
