Went today she said to scrap all the fertility monitoring (CBFM and temps) and to BD 3-4 times per week throughout cycle. She says if you just BD during the 'fertile phase' you can miss days and that the egg can survive 24-48 hrs and that we don't all fully understand what happens and it varies individual to individual.
(Not sure abt this as I do it for several days before and after ov.) But I think i'll give it a go. She also said that alot of people who go for referral to fertility experts are told to get rid of all the monitoring and the patients often find they get pregnant soon after.
She was v positive abt my age too (35) said that she'll do all the blood tests for me whilst we try the new plan...so will have blood test CD18-19 (short cycle so this is the CD21 test). I asked abt FSH test for my age and she said she'd do it on the CD18 and not the CD3 as they only do this for women who are in their mid-40s or are suspected of approaching menopause. She said given that my cycles are regular she doesn't think I have that issue.
What do you think abt this advice?
After reading all you see on this site sometimes I was rather taken aback by the positivity and the fact that she was not patronising at all and was prepared to do all the tests to make us feel better. That and she said my LP phase was fine (10-11 days). She said she studied fertility and cycles at great length during her training as a doc.
Would love to know your thoughts though!
