Hi All!

Thought I would quickly introduce myself. I finally got my BFP yesterday! I'm still :happydance: :happydance: :happydance: inside!!! We had been not trying not preventing for 4 years and actively trying for 6 months.... Needless to say I'm completely psyched and still in disbelief.

I am intending to have a normal natural homebirth and am incredibly excited to experience this! I am even considering waterbirth :) I have two older children (aged 5 and 8) and had very medical experiences with birth. There were no midwives in my area at the time so obstetrical care was my only option (other then free birthing....) There's now midwives in my area and I'm anxiously awaiting their phone call to see if I can get in with their practice!

And just a bit more about my background I am a former midwifery student turned full time mommy and I now doula and teach prenatal classes in my spare time..... In the past 3 years I've been to over 100 births and now I'm just so excited to be on the other side of things again :) :) :)

Congratulations on you BFP!!

I have just trained to be a doula and its amazing how your view point (of child birth) changes when you have a bit more information! :winkwink:

I am hoping and planning my 3rd home waterbirth in september.
good luck with getting your midwife led care.
x:kiss:

Thank you! I'm hoping they call me today... I personally know how busy they are so I'm not gonna get to high strung about them taking so long to return my call....

And yes information does change alot of things. I try to take a very even approach when discussing pregnancy and birth related topics with clients... I don't want them to be swayed by my own personal judgements and biases.... But when it comes to my home life (and sometimes online ) the people around me tend to be made well aware of my view points

I think I prolly have to watch what I say around my kids. It wasn't too long ago that my daughter approached a mother feeding her baby a bottle in a waiting room and told her "you know, breastmilk is better for your baby!" :dohh:

:dohh: out of the mouth of babe's hay! lol

I know what you mean about not putting your personal view onto clients after all their baby, their birth but when it comes to yourself you can be as opinionated as you like! :happydance:

xx
