After a year of trying to conceive I made the decision to go to my obgyn and get behind the reason of why I had always had irregular periods. After blood worj and an ultrasound both coning back with regular and normal results. My doc has informed me that I just don't ovulate regularly so I have been put on progesterone for five days, then I am to wait for af and then on days 3-7 I am to take Clomid. I have been told that all of this will work, I guess I just need reassurance.

Has anyone else already been through this or going through it?

Hi, I had clomid for the same reason and got pregnant on the first cycle :) Indigo is now 2.
I'm ttc#2 (got pregnant by complete surprise 1 year ago but unfortunately lost it), still not pregnant and have left over clomid...
AF has literally JUST arrived and I am considering taking it without monitoring.

Good luck xx

I have been through several rounds of clomid and have just done my first round of injectibles with a trigger shot, IUI, and now I am taking progesterone until A) I find out it didn't work and we start over, or B) I'm pregnant FINALLY and I take progesterone for several more weeks. I am currently 7dpIUI.

I am told progesterone helps your body due what its suppose to and doesn't have any negative side effects that are lasting, so its a positive. I was very responsive on clomid. Hopefully you will be too.

Thank you both. I am currently on cycle day 3 of my induced menses. Today I start my first round of Clomid. I think I need some reassurance on whether or not I am ready for this though. I keep thinking of how drastically my life is going to change and while I know I can handle it, I just dont know that I am mentally ready. My mom said if we waited til we were totally and completely financially stable people would never get pregnant. I guess she is right and that we just need to prioritize and budget more and that we can do this.

I'm currently on CD 6 with round 2 of Clomid at 50mg. My cycles were also irregular lasting 4-6 months long because of PCOS. Luckily for me 50mg did the trick and got me ovulating, which I haven't been able to do on my own. We just weren't able to catch the egg.

I recommend getting PreSeed or another sperm friendly lubricant. Clomid pretty much gets rid of EWCM in some women, so having something around to help the swimmers definitely won't hurt. Also charting your BBT is really helpful.. Seeing that temp spike that shows ovulation is awesome. You know you've ovulated before your CD 21 progesterone test :)

The basic answer to the "Am I ready is NO. No one is. I still panic a little when I imagine my treatment working. Sometimes I worry about handing the process of treatment. Don't get to far ahead of yourself. Or as I like to say, get out of your head.... take it one day at a time.
