Cant believe I get to worry about this second time around but here I am. When TTC our first we went to Mexico during the 2016 Zika outbreak. I worried and worried and we ended up waiting a mo th after getting back to try and then not getting pregnant til the second month.
This time around we have a trip to Peru planned and wanted to TTC right after we got back. I wasn’t fussed about the Zika thing but now I’m having doubts. I don’t want to wait three months (the CDC recommendation for men), I’m so ready to get started I don’t want any more of a gap than I have already.
We will be in Lima two days which is the only area at sea level with that mosquito. But there haven’t been any mosquito borne cases in Lima, just one sexually transmitted one. There have been some in other provinces. And I guess it’s winter down there now.
Would you wait? I’m terrified of any risk and have bad anxiety but I don’t know if I’m being too cautious.
