is cyclogest 400mg twice a day safe?

we are trying to conceive since 5 months.my gynecologist has prescribed me cyclogest 400 mg(progesterone suppository) twice a day from the 15th day of my cycle. for my friend, even after doing IVF her gynecologist had given 200 mg twice a day. I already have a boy of 10 years. i dont feel like using double dose of progesterone before knowing it properly.when i asked the doctor she didnt say much about the dosage but said the hormone treatment is for a support in the menstrual cycle. please somebody tell me 400 mg progesterone twice a day is safe for me or not.

Hi Hun,

I was also prescribed progesterone, but like your friend, only 200 mg twice a day. I'm not sure about the 400 mg dose. Maybe just give your doctor a call to see why it's so high? Did your doctor do blood tests? I'm taking the progesterone following a mmc at 9 weeks....so it's more just a precaution.
